ym2210 d that has been sitting 3 yrs

Went to local parts store and got a ignition switch for it, got it cranking now. everything works.

I'm still confused as to why it has the 2TR22 engine block and not the 2T90. If it was changed it was all done and painted at the same time (many years ago) because it doesnt look like it has ever been worked on. But all my finding is that the 2TR22 is the YM2200 engine. The head on it reads 2TR16, but after some research I see its not uncommon to find yanmar heads stamped with different unmatching numbers for the model even from the factory with some even having john deere numbers on them.

it runs really well other then the bit of smoke.

Maybe there like Ford, use what they had at the time?

1981 model year...oh well use the starter from the 1979 run that we still have laying around even though were suppose to have a redesign for this year???

2TR16 might be the head casting for YM1600 and then later, YM2000. Then still later, YM2210??

I forgot to mention even the horn works, none of the yanmars I have owned has ever had the horn working.

My horn works, as well as the turn signals and flashers, But I need a new light switch. It will light only one of the lights, and is missing the knob. Hoye does not have it online, Might have to call the 800 number as see of they can get one.

Mine use to work with all the lights. This last weekend i noticed nothing worked but the idiot lights? Need to check the fuses and connections somethings a miss?

This is the 2000 switch. I would think yours might be the same. Yanmar Tractor Parts: LIGHT SWITCH_

everything on my ym-1700 works including the horn, Never understood why having a horn, Though I've had thoughts of how I could utilize the horn as a back-up beeper? I would need some sort of switch to the reverse location of the shifter lever, I could really drive the neighbors nuts then, I'm sure it's bad enough having to hear the Knock of the diesel on a early Saturday morning much less a Beeeeep! too!

Glade to read You have the Tractor up and going, Now that you know what your going to do with it ... ( sale it ) what kind of price you think of asking? sorry! you don't really have to answer... but I suspect you can turn a good profit:thumbsup:

My horn was not hooked up on my YM2210 when I got it, but the wires were there and intermittently would sound the horn, usually when I would try to turn. It freaked me out briefly and then, since it sounded like a horn, I checked and sure enough, it was the horn. I ran new wires, moved the horn to the front of the tractor (instead of right under the dash) and installed a nice new push button for it on the dash. I find it useful to have the horn for getting my kids' attention when I'm using the tractor. It's loud enough it can be hard to yell over it, but the high pitch of the horn cuts through well and gets their attention. :thumbsup:
