lol I guess I should have said the majority of snakes, at least the ones here in the U.S. I would not want to get bitten by a green tree python!I'll keep that in mind if I ever come across a python.
Funny thing, when I first came over to the USA I was convinced that I'd die within three minutes if bit by a rattle snake, just like in the movies.
In reality I probably would have died simply because of mind over matter. Surely there would be a physical reaction of some kind from the venom, and that would've likely made my brain decide to shut all operations down.
The cabs are great for the folks who just don’t enjoy their time in the great outdoors. To them I say, why the heck don’t you get an office or factory job ?No cab, its just another delicate glass box full of more stuff to break... Lights, fans, wipers, AC, heater core, 100 extra yards of wires and hoses, mirrors, radio, etc... If I made money with it or it was a field tractor, and I was in it for hours and days at a time, then sure a cab is nice then, more expense to write off! We don't seem to have many above ground wasp nests, and the rare in ground ones have never stung me. Mosquitos or blackflies are the only pests.
I kind of like my tractor like my dirtbike, atv or chainsaw, its a simple tool, add fuel and go use it for a couple hours and put it back in the shed, and do some maintenance related to its function once in a while. I wear appropriate clothing for the weather and its fine. Last night I was ditching and grading the driveway under the full moon in shorts and a t-shirt, and I got a bit dusty, so I had a shower.
Umm, I do enjoy my time outdoors (as explained earlier in this thread), but there are times when having the cab is about the only way to truly enjoy it.The cabs are great for the folks who just don’t enjoy their time in the great outdoors. There are MANY of us who have used a cab tractor quite a bit and STILL prefer an open station. I am one...I love all the folks denying the idea of a cab. I can remember back in the 60's agreeing with my father that a factory cab was a waste of money, we could just throw the heat houser on for the winter and use an umbrella in the hottest summer days.
Then about 6 years later I drove my first cab with AC tractor cultivating corn, I haven't looked back since. I have bought open station tractors since then because of the $$$$$$, but now I sit here with 3 cabbed tractors and one open station. The main use for the open station is the pto generator and backup for the others.
They do make sense for full time farmers or maybe for folks stuck living down south below the Mason Dixon line. Whenever I see one on a CUT up in the northern US, all I can think of is “a fool and his money are soon parted”.There are MANY of us who have used a cab tractor quite a bit and STILL prefer an open station.
