You Have a Cab?

I have a cab because it was on the 9600 when I got it auction. AC and heat don't work, I keep the doors off and the back window open with a magnet fan on. I've never needed it in the winter, but if it comes up I'll fix the heat. The other two have canopies.

Open. We built the barn to accommodate a cabbed unit, but I actually prefer the open station for what I do. It also helps with trees in apiary.

Everything I have has a cab.

This is just one of the many reasons.

Are you a cab, or open station type?

Yeah that’ll get your attention if you don’t see it, I was hauling a tree stand on the back of a 4 wheeler and part of the ladder ripped a basketball size hornets nest in half that was beside the trail hanging in a little pine. At least the 4 wheeler is fast enough to get away.

Best of both worlds, one of each. I've lost more mirrors, etc from my cabs when I decide it too hot/cold to use the open and do something stupid like bush hogging around heavy brush & tree areas.

my typical scenario looks like this: You watch to the left and at that very second a tree comes out and bites off your right mirror - still waiting to see that pesky tree do it (maybe I'll have to put video in the cab 😂). Then you back up to get close to the tree - because mamma wants that part of the field to look prettier, and as soon as to look through the back window another pesky tree sneaks up and hits your brush guard with a limb or something. I actually had a tree throw one of its limbs that was really high up in the tree at my door and broke the glass! There really ought to be a law!

Hey, I've got an idea, let's advocate for a bill to outlaw trees from bitting and/or hitting our tractors with any of their body parts. First offense could be No water for 30 days, 2nd offense would be removal by force numerous limbs and if it still doesn't learn it's lesson after that. It will be sentenced to death by woodstove or fireplace. 😂🤣😁

I do shredding/bush hogging for a living seasonally, among other ag services.

Those mirrors are a huge problem when cutting around and through trees. o_O

In addition to getting them knocked out of whack where you can't see where you need to, and have to get out and refocus them, they have potential to kill you, or at a minimum, trap you in the cab. If the tractor is on fire, that scenario gets serious real quick! (When your mirror folds back against the door, it can keep you from a quick exit because the door is blocked.)

When I get a tractor now, before I ever even take it out, I reposition those side mirrors to be in front of the windshield so that I can still see behind me, but the mirrors are now protected, and not so prone to getting out of focus or being a safety issue.

Still use them a lot to see behind me.

That may help save you from cutting so many trees down... ;)

I'm glad that I have two doors, because a mirror will block the door so good it's impossible to open the door!!!

I made the mistake of not pushing the mirror back out one time when it was pushed back over the door, and then I caught the other mirror on a branch, and both doors where blocked. I had a second of concern that I couldn't get one of them pushed out far enough to open the door, and then started wondering if I could get out the back window?

I wanted to remove my mirrors and use a back up camera, but the camera doesn't have a wide enough view to replace the mirrors. Maybe two cameras? I like being able to see with the mirrors, but it's too easy to catch a branch and push them back.

I'm going to try adjusting them farther forward so they don't stick out the side so much. It's either that, or learn to stop getting too close to branches!!!

Just swing those mirror around and look through the windshield at them. Try it.. If you don't like it, you can always put them back. 😉

I wish my Mahindra had a cab with A/C, couldn't afford that when I bought the tractor.

The mirror swivel mechanism on my L6060 is loose enough that putting a little pressure on the door will force the mirror back enough to get your hand on it.

The down side is, the mirrors are easily knocked out of position.

The funny thing is that a snake bite doesn't hurt whatsoever, a chihuahua bites harder than a snake does.
I'll keep that in mind if I ever come across a python.

Funny thing, when I first came over to the USA I was convinced that I'd die within three minutes if bit by a rattle snake, just like in the movies.

In reality I probably would have died simply because of mind over matter. Surely there would be a physical reaction of some kind from the venom, and that would've likely made my brain decide to shut all operations down.

Real men don't cry, they trade in for a cabbed tractor.
