I've owned trucks all my life. My worst truck is my 2003 F150 xlt 4x4 SuperCrew. From day one it steered like a barge (Left full rudder!), wallows like a '72 El Dorado, mushy brakes, rattles and clanks constantly, rear window leaks constantly so it smells like mildew, had to replace the entire AC system after 5 years, it is hard turn when in 4wd, off road capability is marginal at best, it won't go straight in slippery mud, the bed is too short, tailgate is too narrow, fit and finish in the interior is a joke, have replaced headlight switch 3 times at $20 a pop for a cheap piece of plastic, temp and compass readout failed after about 6 years (I repaired it myself last year).
My best truck is my 2003 F150 xlt 4x4 SuperCrew. Despite all of the above it has done everything I've asked it to do from towing horse trailers, towing car and tractor trailers, hauling my dogs and kids around (they grew up in it), it was integral in building our log cabin, it has made long family trips, it is comfortable to drive on the highway, it has never actually broken down, never left us stranded, no major mechanical issues. It has also never had a front end alignment but has only had three sets of tires one of which was previously used and all of which had worn perfectly evenly. My daughter learned to drive in it and drove it all the way through high school. She is married and still gets upset when I talk about selling it.
I love to hate it and hate to love it. But it is still going and still my primary truck.
The truck I most enjoyed was my 1991 Nissan Pathfinder. This was when SUVs were more truck than car (and it was a body-on-frame truck). It was underpowered by today's standards but it drove well, handled well, was geared perfectly for an off road vehicle, came with 31 inch tires stock and was an extremely capable off road vehicle including barreling around at high speeds on the deep sand roads of Eglin AFB's reservation......Scandinavian flicks, hand brakes turns and all.....just for fun.
