Why a curved blade?

Here's my guess... It chops the grass/brush into smaller pieces. The first pass of the blade contacts the grass on the outermost edge cutting off a portion of the plant. The next pass is further forward in travel and a portion of the blade that is closer to the ground contacts the grass and chops more off.

In the end you get smaller pieces of grass with a curved blade than with a straight blade.

Imagine the forward thrust this thing would generate! No way to stop on a dime, especially behind an ATV.
