My driveway starts at 620 feet the house is at 800 feet,
so about a 180 ft climb in the 1/4 mile driveway.

Worse then it sounds as the last 200 only climbs about 5 feet :dance1:
It keeps us on our toes in the winter.
Everybody that knows it throws there vehicle in 4wd if possible even in the summer so as to not churn up and loosen the gravel.

Is your farm that steep or is this abnormal?

At the city house driveway, or at the gate at the farm. 20 miles apart. Same elevation.

Parts are, most of those are in pasture,
quite a bit is rolling hills and we have some clay flats.
my place is about 3 miles from the farm.

I'm about 450 ft higher that the city public works.
One fall we had 8 inches of wet snow and I finally called public works to ask when the plow was coming.
They replied, WHY, it is only raining.
This year winter is early as they already have plowed 4 times while in town they are on bare pavement.
We are on icy surfaces.

Some people do indeed receive snow. Lots of it each winter. We moved here because we like to see, and ski on it.
