Fixed the ongoing trailer plug issue.
Trailer plug on one of my trailers had a terminal that was pinched shut and would fold over terminal on the truck. I would straighten it out with the Leatherman but knew the day would come... that day was yesterday! Found the truck terminal in one of my trailer plugs

Replaced offending plug and socket on truck.

I bought a few padlocks from nearby garage sale a few years ago that were pretty cheap (maybe 50 cents each or so). I liked this brass one for locking my boat trailer onto the ball hitch on my pickup, and also for locking up the cap when I had valuables in it.

A few weeks ago, I got back from a fishing trip and I couldn’t locate the key. I used an angle grinder and cutoff wheel to remove the lock when I got home that day.

A day or two later, I found the key. The cut off lock was still in my shop garbage can. I fished it out and removed the cut-off part. It wasn’t real easy to clamp and it took a few tries to get it straight, but I managed to weld it back together with less than one stick of 6013 1/16” rod.

I ground it flush, reworked the notch a bit with a file, gave it a shot of WD-40, and now it works as well as it ever did. Took me about 1/2 hour for the repair, but it was a fun job. It’s nice to have a good lock again. I was worried the whole time I was out fishing yesterday morning, someone was going to run off with my trailer and leave me stranded out on the river.

I have an ongoing “fixed thing”. Knotter #6 on my Krone baler.
It rips the twine behind the knotter about every other bale.

Did get something done on the severed 12 inch. Harbor freight bucket
Reattached and some side reinforcements added was able to dig another 100 feet or so today and the bucket is holding up so far.

Seems there is always something needing to be fixed. How many others get up in the morning and think to themselves "I wonder what will break today"?
Yep, alternator not charging on a tractor. Yep, battery toast on another. I do not even want to go to the barn today.
Who else has these days and what is your latest "perfect, just what I needed today" moments?

YES! I thought I was the only one that has these days. All I can tell you is that just when things can't get any worst, they do. Only kidding. Just try to remember a day when everything went right, I know they seem far and few, but they were there, and they will be there again. Of course, swearing at the thing seems to help. Then when all else fails, try praying. Not saying either one of these will help but they are sure worth a try.

I have a hard time sleepin at night cause I am tryin to decide what to repair tomorrow.
We been at this place 47 years now and started out goin up hill at a good pace. At some point in time we started goin the other direction. The things that need fixin are pilin way above our heads. Now we are in the most need of repair, we are both falling apart. We are at the point that just keepin us going is more than we can handle.

Neighbor borrowed bush-hog. Now it needs new transmission ($725). Cost of shaft and seals, $800. Picked up used 5'er to get by ($500 with free rear 8' blade the seller didn't want anymore). When I got back home, cats decided they didn't like my monitor - No that isn't a black mountain scene on the monitor!

I just had my "free" barn cat FIXED last week. He was hanging around for the last year, so I started to feed him. Slowly came around to letting me pet him, then pick him up. Bought a cat carrier, got him to the vet and checked, shots, neuter. $411, but n/c for the claw clipping which is a real plus.

Now - he's inside/outside, on my lap all the time, purring and doing the "kneading dough" thing with his paws. Not taking to any kind of litter box, but no accidents inside...

I've never been a cat person, never owned one. I've been adopted, I think.
