Okay, done for the day. I did manage to get a bit of a shock while doing the electrical though.

You should fire yourself, as your electrician skills are somewhat lacking.

Do I charge myself for the related pain and suffering (this might take as many as three beer and four cigarettes to fully recover from), since I'm the main contractor, or do I charge my wife for the pain and suffering, since she threw the wrong breaker?

You should take a day off, on me. And fire the wife too. And hold off on the beer until after the job.

Is my wife considered a sub-contractor in this case?

Is she in the country legally?

Also, my neighbour came over to ask me if I could clear a bit of snow for him. He looked thirsty so I gave him a beer. Is this a business expense?

No, it's a bribe.

It was home-made, part of my special batch of black caramel and almond Christmas beer that I started back in September, which is quite labour intensive to produce.

I can't help with your drinking problem, but maybe if you slow down a little, things might start to make more sense.

I've been thinking alot about what my time is worth when it comes to projects. At this point i think im in the hole as far as money to project worth at this time. When i add up all the tools i own both hand and electric. My welding machine plasma cutting torch exc. I have one project i'm working on that i am way in the hole. Started making a large roller to pull behind the tractor. Could have bought a NICE used one on craigs list but decided to make my own. After cutting myself with the angle grinder and getting a $4200 er bill i should have just bought the used one. I find myself paying to have more and more done every day because i enjoy my free time even more.
