My BIL was in the seamless gutter business for years. Sold out about 10 years ago. He used Grumman Alum Trucks with Dodge 360 motors. I think he had 3 trucks at the end.

I think your boom would have made him salivate. Always amazed me watching him put up a 40 foot run by himself.

Trailer has built in D rings and gate lift springs which are great. Tow vehicle is 09 Ram Hemi 4x4 3.92 gears. I added Timbrens to the rear and it does not squat hardly at all. Well worth the $100 or so.

Don, that looks like a very well built trailer. I love how they hid the spring assist for the ramps and how you have typical ramps plus a full gate.

Still at my full time job but did 75 gutter jobs in 2010 and 88 in 2011. I may hang it up in May and become a full time gutter man. 26+ years in the prison system is about enough!
Once you're in the biz for a while, a 40 foot run really isn't bad to do on your own if it isn't too windy. :laughing:
Doing a few minor mods to the '97 7.3 Powerstroke to give it a little more response. Did a new air intake and a 3 inch down pipe from the turbo. Have a Cali kit for the fuel pressure regulator and a new 6 position chip in the works.

Just curious what you charge a foot? My BIL was at $3 per foot for standard 5". That was for every foot of gutter and down spout. So say it was a house with 2 40' runs and 2 10' down spouts that would be 100'@$3 per foot or a $300 job. Of course if there were special circumstances he would charge more if needed.

I just did some 5" last month myself. I have hung enough gutter with him to do it comfortably. I had a seamless guy run it and drop it in my yard with all the pieces to finish up.. We hung it later. Anyway his bid worked out to $3.25 per foot but we did it for less by hanging it ourselves.

Nice truck. I hear you on the Conti's. I had them on my 05 F350 SRW 4x4 Powerstroke. It would get stuck on wet grass. I put some Toyo's on it and its now a different truck.

My 04 F-250 4x4 Powerstroke came with BFG's and it was a perfect match.

In this area, nobody does gutter that cheap, even for 5 inch. I'm getting $5+ for 6 inch and I'm comparable with most of the 5 inch guys. The per foot price doesn't include downspout, hangers, end caps, corner miters, etc. I've got all the work I can handle, and then some. I was actually turning work down last season because I had so many on the list to catch up.

$3 per ft here, additional cost for special applications as you mentioned.

However, I'm at less than half of the $3 price for downspout. :laughing:
I also have an elbow machine and custom bend all of my elbows and offsets. That eliminates a few seams in the sweeps between gutter and wall.

Thought I'd resurrect this great thread with one of my own. Truck is an '07 K2500HD 4x4 with the 6.0l gas and a 4.10 rear. The trailer is a 14k Tarnel deckover I rented for the haul. The tractor is 1948 Farmall M that I bought at an auction 300+ miles away. The home-built cab is actually pretty decent and it runs great.
