Nice looking new rig (and old one for that matter)...congrats!

What engine did the '09 have in it, and how does the 6.2L compare?

Congrats on post #2500, we only got the new F-250 yesterday, and i havent seen or driven it yet, although i will probably do both later today. The old one was the 6.8L V10, with 4.10s and the new F-250 has the 3.73 rear end. Ill update this thread when we have some miles on the new one, and have pulled with it.

It will be interesting to here comparisons from the V10 to the V8. I've heard great things about the 6.2L, so hopefully it works out well for you.

Towed with this from OK to CA running 75 mph up all the passes on I 40. Cummins power with a few mods in my home shop including transmission that I build and BD torque converter.

Wow that's a nice shop!

Side note, pulled right around 20,000 lbs the other day with the 6.0L freshly BulletProofed and the mild (labeled 50 HP) tow tune... Very impressed. Had great power. Total rolling weight was 28760 (scales). No complaints right now :D

Not to derail this thread too badly but what sort of footer is under that job crane? Reason I ask is I have access to a nearly identical crane but have no footers in my slab.

Awesome shop, by the way!

It is 7' x 7' x 7' with two layers of #6 rebar on a 6" grid and the bolts are 6' long with plates on the bottom. I have more shop info on the Garage Journal.

7' deep, that's a heck of a footer but that crane with a load out at the would put a extreme amount of force on the attachment point.
Thanks for the info.

I can only imagine the diameter of the 6' long bolts....

Well, some of you may remember the 2010 V10 F350 with a service body I got as a work truck a couple months back. Unfortunately, due to a complete, semi freak, wrong place wrong time accident, it was totalled. However, some bad things turn out to be good and I present to you my first brand new vehcile EVER! This is my 2016 F350 SRW, 6.2l V8, 4x4, extended cab long bed, with 3.73 locking rear. It is an XL, I hate cloth seats and couldn't afford a model with leather LOL. But it is just about exactly what I wanted. It has power windows, upgraded radio, chrome strip around the front grill, and a few other goodies like upfitter switches. It was missing a few things I wanted, but nothing major. And surprisingly, it didn't have a built in brake controller, but I got that worked into the deal and will be getting that and a bedliner installed when I return to the dealer for my permanent tags. All in all, very excited and thankful to have a good job that allows me to make a purchase like this at 20 years old. Here she is!

Nice. That truck should last you for a good long time. Post up some pictures of it in action when you get a chance to use it.

looks great. I don't know why the brake controller and up fitter switches aren't standard on all of the super duty trucks.

Here is mine 2015 Chevrolet 2500 HD 4X4and a 2015 Gatormade 25+5 gooseneck trailer with 2 10k super single axles with 17.5 tires, and I love the extra wide mega ramps.

Sounds like you turned the lemons into lemonade.

(And I'm not calling the V10 a lemon.)

Thoes of you with deck-over beaver tailed trailers; how easy is it to load a zero turn? Clearace issues?

Mine was no problem. In this picture I put it up there to work on it. Deck was all the way up on it which is normally what I do when not mowing.
