guess it depends on how much you use it. Dump truck will hold more, and be easier to move around, but it's another machine to maintain and insure. I'm just a homeowner, so the trailer made sense for me.
Trying to decide if I want a dump trailer or buy another smaller dump truck. My dump truck now is about done for.

The Dutch way would be: Strip the front end, bend the chassis rails into a V, bolt a coupler to it, and there you go....Trying to decide if I want a dump trailer or buy another smaller dump truck. My dump truck now is about done for.
Funny you mention this but another nice thing about a dump trailer is you can easily hook it up to a tractor and pull it any where the tractor can go. Like an “off road” dump truck. The Dutch way would be: Strip the front end, bend the chassis rails into a V, bolt a coupler to it, and there you go....![]()

4WD Tractor might be better with ag tires pulling it through mud, but really deep mud would be difficult. You’d have to have a more off road intended tire to do any good off road. My dump trailer has 17.5 tires and they’re a great road tire but they’ll get you stuck in a hurry. It’s worse off road than my dump truck is and that’s pretty bad lol.

My 03 looks much like that except extended cab. And a smaller PJ dump trailer. Top Notch tilt deck hauls the tractor. And the toy.03 1500Hd and a 16ft 14k PJ LP Dump. This fit my xj2025h and 4ft rotary cutter.

nikdfish, suggestion for you. When chaining down, move your anchor points on the trailer closer to the tractor. In other words, try to chain more "down" than back. You will find that there is less bounce when going down the road. And ultimately, you will have a better ride in your truck.Took the 3038e out to the acreage the other day. The 2020 Longhorn Ram is a nicer tow vehicle than the old 2008 F-150 in a few ways w/ backup cam, factory brake controller, self leveling air suspension, etc.

I've settled on a tie down routine using 2 10' chains, 4 axle straps & 4 ratchet binders.
I appreciate the advice, but the car hauler only has 4 deck rings, one at each corner. I wouldn't want to try & DIY additional ones for fear of screwing it up.nikdfish, suggestion for you.
