Yes to keep as much as I can from blowing on me. I still get covered in it...

My farm grass gets so thick I took side chute completely off both my 72 SD decks as soon as I got them home & unloaded them.

We’ve had an awful wet summer here in North Georgia.
Thankfully no flooding tho like so many other areas.

One more pic to clarify:

5 year (hard to believe) followup, your bushing mod has been working perfectly for the past 1500 hours or so. Thanks for taking the time to post the detailed info!

I’ve used @gonnasellit bushing spec mod for several years flawless too on my ZD1511 72 SD.
The old pro deck blades with more lift on wings really distributes HEAVY Clippings way better than the wider flatter stock ACS blades

Thank You Sir

I’m really liking the Pro Deck Oregon 92-116 hi lift blades on my 72” ACS Deck (y)

cuts great & slings clippings way farther out the side chute
Are these 92-116 Oregon the highest lift 24.5” 1-1/8” CH blades available for the 72 Pro Deck ?

I’m sure glad this F3710 has the Pro Deck that uses 1-1/8 CH & not the ACS deck.

I guess nobody else makes these blades ?

I wasn’t a fan of the Gator blades.

I have Gator blades in Grasshopper and F3060 and like how long they stay reasonably sharp, but the forward blow they cause when the grass is very dry is really annoying!

Every machine is different I guess. I really like the Gator mulching blades, and use them all season. I like sharp blades, so I generally sharpen them every 40 hours or so and got 700 hours on the last set.

That’s why I quit using the Gator Blades because they don’t have enough lift height.

The high lift blades slings heavy clippings much further out of the deck (no chute deflector)

See if you can find blades for it from "Predator". Those blades are amazing. Plus they take a beating and look like they've never been used. I bought a set for my G2160 a few years ago. I figured after almost 3 years time to sharpen them. My wife said a guy in the factory where she works will do it for me (large tool mfgr here in Rockford IL). So, I ordered a second set, after they came I pulled them off. I honestly had a hard time telling the 3 yo ones from the brand new ones. Even though they'd chewed up large tree branches, an occasional rock, and hit edge stones more times than I could count. Not a nick on them!
