HOUSTON, TX (February 20, 2014) – Mahindra USA, the world’s number one selling tractor based on volume, has been selected to be showcased in the 2014 Communication Arts Typography Annual for its 2013 Mahindra USA’s FFA Women In Ag (WIA) Scholarship poster design. The Women in Ag Scholarships are distributed by Mahindra USA and the National FFA to encourage young women to celebrate and sustain the family farm values and rural lifestyle through a career in agriculture.

Mahindra USA’s partner, Tangelo, led the development of the latest WIA scholarship poster design that was selected for recognition by Communication Arts, the creative industry’s premier publication and resource, in its inaugural Communication Arts Typography Annual. The unique design and typography was created in tandem with famed illustrator Christian Northeast whose works have been featured in The New Yorker, Nickelodeon, GQ, Time and the New York Times. Christian’s work has been recognized by American Illustration, Communication Arts, SPD, Graphics, AIGA and many others. This collaboration resulted in a compelling piece that created a sense of pride by highlighting the contributions of women in the agriculture industry.

Mahindra USA and Tangelo are focused on the key role that young adults, and in particular young women, play in advancing American agriculture. This scholarship program supports these students in their pursuit of a college degree.

“Now in its seventh year, the Mahindra USA’s FFA Women In Ag Scholarship Program is a testament to our commitment to help the next generation of women Rise and share the rich legacy of the past. These young women are shining examples of the Mahindra Rise spirit and philosophy: Accepting No Limits, Alternative Thinking and Driving Positive Change for themselves and their communities,” said Cleo Franklin, Mahindra USA’s Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Planning.

“It’s been an incredible privilege to work with Mahindra USA and National FFA on this successful scholarship program. These limited edition illustrations are great fun to be a part of; we are proud of the design and honored to be recognized among the world’s most talented graphic artists,” said Daren Guillory, Design Director at Tangelo.
