    4707

Mine didn't do that. What it would do is if I moved the tab "up" a little bit and then stopped, the 3pt arms would keep going up. If I moved the tab "down" a little bit, the arms wouldn't stop until they were all the way down. You couldn't just move the arms a little bit, no matter how little...

    4710 Pricing

The 4700 series tractors come standard with radial tires and should not be "loaded" with anything. While my 4707 has the wheel weights, they don't come close to adding enough ballast, so I made a "do all" 3pt hitch attachment that I can quickly back up to and lift a concrete counter weight that...

    Bought a 4707... extended warranty?

The 3pt hitch controls were all wonky, the cab sprung a coolant leak, and the hood doesn't like staying up on its own. The dealership sort of fixed the first issue (but it's not perfect, just good enough) and the leak, but never did take care of the hood.

Any pricing yet on the new E tractors?

Yeah, I noticed that. Yuck. Don't get me wrong, I like innovation and we as humans have gotten to the technology level that we're at by trying new things and experiencing trial and error. Having said that, some ideas just don't make sense for the application. A fully electric plug-in tractor...

Any pricing yet on the new E tractors?

    Backhoe vs Tractor with backhoe

Yep. 100hp and 18,000lbs of weight. My dad was commenting on yellow machinery vs. farm tractors with loaders and he said, "No matter how rugged a farm tractor is with a loader, you still have to be careful. A (yellow machine) doesn't care either way." Everything is better built when it's...

    Backhoe vs Tractor with backhoe

On our farm, we have a bunch of tractors and equipment to do all the things and chores that need to be done. Are tractors and equipment a good investment right now?

I generally think that tractors and equipment are excellent investments because they tend to hold their value fairly well (depending on certain factors, of course) AND because they provide capability to do things that otherwise might not be possible in between the time they are purchased and the...

how well does TYM HST cruise & auto throttle work for bush hogging vs shuttle shift?

I've owned both HST and Powershuttle machines. What year did "emissions" tractors and equipment start?

I actually did consider the Kubota M62, but four things hurt it: 1. I already have a new Massey Ferguson 4707 with the upgraded loader. An M62 is a more capable machine (loader wise) than the 4707, but not by a significant amount. We do some materials handling on our farm, most of which is...

John Deere "J" series 410 loader backhoes: Good to go?

I made an offer on an '07 410J with 3,800 hours and it seems like it's in decent shape. This is a non-emissions machine and as such is desirable. Anyone have the scoop on J series John Deere loader backhoes? Thanks.

I have no idea where the computer is on this machine. BTW, that is a nice piece of equipment you have there. These machines (loader backhoes) are so versatile.

What year did "emissions" tractors and equipment start?

I just put money down on a 2007 410J (4wd, weights, A/C, air seat, Xhoe, and powershift). I have the understanding that it is pre-emissions. 3,800 hours and seems to be in very good condition, inside and out. Former township machine.

Was it 2008? I'm looking at a John Deere backhoes for sale (310s and 410s) and am curious when the last of the non-emissions tractors and equipment were. I think it was '07, but I'm not sure. Thanks.

We have a TYM on the farm. It's a decent little machine. I'm sure TYMs have gotten better since it was purchased in '06. Having said that, I think I'd trust a Kioti more than I'd trust either a TYM or an LS. My two cents.

Any Massey 2600 series owners? Good, bad, or other?

I know two guys local to me that have them. One is a 2606 and the other is a 2607. From what I gather, they like them. Personally, I think the 4707 is a much better option for a tractor in that horsepower range. However, if price and old world technology is what's important to you, then go for it.

    General thoughts on the 2515h?

The 2515 has the same loader (150?) as many other, larger Branson tractors, correct? It's supposedly rated at a little over 2,000lbs, which is rather stout given the size of the tractor. Yeah, I put a little bit of air in the tires when I bought the tractor. They were too soft for the work I do. 4707

My 4707 has the FL3615 loader, which has a rating of 3,400lbs. I routinely lift and move 2,000lbs with the loader and many times fill the bucket with gravel or loam and that must run 2-3,000lbs. Even with just 2k, the back end is light and forces me to engage 4wd.

John Deere 1050 loaders: why does a 75 have more lift than an 80?

This leaves my dad in a quandary because while he wants a 1050, he doesn't want to sacrifice loader lift capacity. It's bass ackward if you think about it. I bought the filter and oil from my dealer. I figure changing the oil will happen infrequently enough where I'd rather just pay whatever the dealer charges and have "Massey Ferguson" on the side in case something happens.

Just did my first oil and filter change. The two drain plugs were easy. The oil filter is not. It's also horizontal, so you're going to want to fill the new filter with oil and then let it sit for about ten minutes to get absorbed before you put it on.

Couple more pics, this time with the counterweight. I ended up leaving the Reese hitch on for the pic. Typically, I'd take it off if I was using the weight. My counterweight is 2,500lbs. It lifted it with no issues. It also tugs around my trailers perfectly fine. Why are you nitpicking it when I built it to suit my needs and does exactly what I wanted it to? This isn't my first rodeo.

    8n running a 6 foot hog

8Ns are ok. A '53 Jubilee or '54 NAA are better due to their engines. A '55 and up are better still due to improved rear wheel seals that don't leak on the brakes and you can also find some with live power and power steering. Those are the holy grails of antique/vintage small Ford tractors.
  53. W

Anybody ever see a 3pt attachment that did the following....

No, you didn't see it, because it doesn't show up in either picture. The lateral bracing is behind the top rail, facing away from the camera.

Anybody ever see a 3pt attachment that did the following....

When I first talked to my dad about what I wanted to do, he thought I was referring to ^ this. I then considered it, but decided just to go with a dedicated 3pt hitch attachment, as I have no intention of ever taking it off the back of the tractor.
  55. W

Anybody ever see a 3pt attachment that did the following....

I did use 1/4" steel on the tower. Also, I think I mentioned it already, but while you can't see it from the pics, I reinforced the top rail from the tower outward towards each side of the attachment. It should be plenty strong enough to tow trailers in the yard.
  56. W

Anybody ever see a 3pt attachment that did the following....

    BEWARE - T-N-T CARPORTS

I ordered a 24x36' steel building/carport from EB Carports in August. Paid the 10% deposit the day I ordered it. Was told install would be 4-8 weeks. Three or four delays since, still no building. Eight months now.

    Massey 4700 Options

I have a 2021 MF 4707 with the FL3615 loader. It is easily the nicest loader on a farm tractor I've ever used and am soooo glad I upgraded to it, as I do quite a bit of work with loaders here. Having said that, the radial tires don't allow for fluid ballast and the wheel weights aren't enough...

    TYM T574 vs LS MT355E

The only TYM we have on our farm has had electrical gremlins for years. Nothing major, but annoying nonetheless. I personally think TYM and LS are on the same tier, with LS maybe being ranked slightly better.

That tractor is most likely built by Japanese company Iseki, which is a very respected tractor manufacturer. Massey compact tractors have a good reputation because of this. 118. W

    4707

Went out to the garage and looked more closely at everything. It's not fuel, it appears to be coolant. Why would the back of the tractor be sprayed with coolant? Also, the coolant reservoir is quite low, further suggesting it's a coolant leak.

Owner Dissatisfied With Deere Wants To Switch To Kubota

Hard to buy a "bad" tractor these days. Sure, there are brands and models that are better (or worse) than others, but it's not like it was 20 years ago when there really were "bad" machines out there. The nearest Kubota dealer usually had 20 or so machines...

    Need Advice

IMO, the 4707 is as good as it gets for that size tractor. I've got one and aside from a problem with the 3pt hitch (dealer is working on it), this tractor is pretty darn sweet. I got the upgraded loader (FL 3615) and don't regret it.
  125. W

    First Tractor suggestions

The only advice I can give you right off the bat (given the parameters you posted), you want a geared transmission and NOT hydro. A clutchless powershuttle is preferred, but a synchroshuttle (have to use the clutch to operate the reverser) would do as well. Kubota is a fine tractor, you can't...

    DPFs, EGRs, DEF, etc...

Yes. The 7.3L Powerstroke was (is) a really good engine. Mine is 19 years old and a is still my daily driver and it tows trailers all the time. No complaints whatsoever. However, if I had to choose, I'd choose the 12V 5.9L Cummins. It's a little better.

I've got a 2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke and a 1994 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins. No issues with either engine and both are still driven today. If I had to choose, however, I'd pick the Cummins.

TYM T474 vs John Deere 4044M

I bought a new TYM 233 in '06. Good little tractor that was very capable. It was a little rough around the edges and it didn't like cold weather starting, but I don't regret purchasing it. My brother owns it now and he leaves it on our family farm.

What creates "bad diesel" fuel ?

We have a fair amount of tractors and equipment on our farm and most of them use diesel. We also have a 300 gallon bulk tank that we get off road/HHO from. 146. W

Rim guard or not? Why a ballast box instead of boxblade?

Agreed. Wheel and axle bearings are a thing. Weights bolted to the wheel or ballast inside the tire don't affect bearings or surfaces inside axles. Ballast on the 3pt hitch will. That's why wheel weights are probably the best overall way to add weight, because they don't put additional stress on...

Rim guard or not? Why a ballast box instead of boxblade?

That's an excellent approach. Really nice setup. Kills a bunch of birds with one stone. It's pretty heavy for what it is, but it's close enough to the tractor that the ballast...
