1996 Ford (NH) 1715
Model Year: 1996
I bought this tractor when we bought our property. I had been looking for a used 4x4, diesel, loader, compact tractor. They are hard to come by around here. Most are either well used up, or 1 year old. I came across this one at a local dealer, and bought it on the spot for $7500. At the time it had 400 hours on it, came with a brand new Woods back blade. In the next several years, I built a pole barn and a house, and used this tractor every single day for 3 years. Many jobs it wasn't meant to do (backfilling an entire house, spread 14" of bank run gravel on 1100' of driveway, brush hogged close to 40 acres a few times, etc. It never once gave me a lick of trouble. I would still have it, other than I wanted something I could put a mid mount mower on to mow about 4 acres. We sold the 1715 and a JD 425, to purchase a JD 3120. All and all, I would buy another 1715 with no qualms. It's built like tractors should be, not like many that are made today. Should mention that the New Holland TC30 and the new version (can't think of the number) are the same exact tractor as the 1715 - right down to part interchangeability.
Pros: Solid, reliable, well built, no fancy electronics.
Cons: None, it does exactly what it is supposed to.
