From the Thread description I'd have though it was referring to the elevation of the places dispensing diesel fuel.

I was thinking the same thing
I bet it is a lot higher in Nepal

Everyone wants something for nothing---Labor wants to get paid big bucks for "WORKING"----Business want to make a big profit for "selling"----and they all want someone else to pay the bill-----Everyone complains about social security but who wants to "have" to go live with they children and their grandkids like they did in the old days when there was no government to help-----no tax no government---the strong survive---the weak Parrish---just like all other animals---NOT A PLACE THAT I WANT TO LIVE!!!! there has to be a solution-----?????? The state has to generate income to pay for the care for the sick, old or handicapped. The thought is to generate the money to cure lung cancer (smoking related diseases are a substantial part of the cost of public health care) from those who smoke, by means of extra tax on tobacco. That sounds fair enough to me.

Actually, there have been a small number of studies that showed smokers are actually medically cheaper on a whole life basis, since they tend to die fairly quickly rather than consume vast amounts of resource living a long time in nursing homes-- then dying anyway just as "expensively" as smokers. Of course, the government is now addicted to taxes on nicotine vice and that addiction is just as hard to escape as any other more common nicotine addiction.

The world price of oil is quoted in dollars, with only a small variation from location to location to cover shipping (usually). Major variations are almost always due to government intervention in one way or another-- subsidies making Chinese, Indonesian, Saudi or Venezualen (and Iraqi and Iranian and Indian...) fuel cheaper than one would expect, or taxes making European fuel more expensive. Indeed, a lot of the gasoline on the east coast of the US is from Europe, since European refineries make too much gasoline and barely enough diesel. The price for gasoline on the east coast is less than in Europe, so clearly the commodity cost is not to blame for the difference.

Ask the people that had to live through those wars that question----don't take the US propaganda machine answer!!!!! Have you live there and lived through those wars----me neither!!!!!But I have talked to quite a few of the survivors and they tell a vasty different story than the American Media story!!!!

You did not mention anything about living through a war. You stated war isn't the answer unless you win. Germany and Japan lost a war and they are doing well. Try and stay on the same topic you start.

Any extra money that is left over is used to buy votes to keep itself in power.

Holland is stricter in that, than America. The government gives all political parties an equal 15 minutes a day broadcasting time before elections, and funds for campaigns are restricted.
