I went to the local john deere/honda dealer to scope out a new Honda snow blower at 7:30am.I looked them over and brought my lovely wife back with me at 9:30am to see which one she wanted. My wife picked the one she wanted and we told them we would be back to pick it up at 12:30pm.When we arrived back at 12:30pm this dealer had sold 12 snow blowers in 2 hours, and most of them were not cheap. How about a Honda self propelled $2000 up to $2600,John deere self propelled $1000 up to $1500,and many smaller honda & deere models for $599 up to $800.I think folks in Michigan are already getting sick of winter and it just started dec.21.coobie

So if you want a bargain in snow blowers, wait until tax time in Mi when those that bought the 2500 blowers need to pay taxes!!

I've never been to Michigan, but it must just be amazing there. Why else would you deal with living through winter there? I think that it would take all of one day of minus anything temperatures, shoveling snow and not being able to go for a walk in the woods to put me over the edge. Hope you got a cab with a warm heater!!!

Got lots of snow here.
But living in MI means snow and another chance to get the tractor out and enjoy the beauty of a fresh snow fall.
Being retired I can do the snow when I feel like it. :D

Eddie,we get quite a bit of snow and sometimes ice storms. The upper part of the state and the lake shores get alot more snow than us.I bought a 2006 Kubota RTV 900 with heated cab with a 72 inch plow that i do my plowing with.We use a smaller snow blower to do the sidewalks around the house and barn.coobie

It is nice having four seasons. You can always take a walk since there is no bad weather, just bad clothes. The forest takes on a whole new life being blanketed in snow. Although there are times when I could see moving to warmer climates.

My brother, who lived in Michigan or Chicago until last spring just got in from San Diego and has already become a wimp when it comes to the cold.

I grew up in a small town just outside of Traverse City and went to college in Marquette. One stays in Michigan because of the winter and winter sports (snowshoeing though the forest is a real treat) PLUS the summers around the Great Lakes can't be beat. I'd go back if I could find a job. :)

I'm not quite sick of it yet, but it has come early and stayed put for a while, eh? And it's 36 now, after several days in the teens. Back to the teens for a few days, then 48 on Saturday!?! Crazy weather.

And Eddie, you'll have to plan a trip up here sometime. Like about any other state though, it is quite diverse. From big city Detroit to the lake shores to the wilderness of the Upper Penninsula. From sunny summer to snowy winter. Yes, we've about got it all.
