My only point was that if it was poor quality, and it upset him, he shouldn't have accepted it. It's really hard to go back to the dealer later, after you have used the tractor, and make a case about unacceptable visual things. Mine was acceptable to me, and I can't tell you if it is better, or worse than the OP's since I haven't seen any photos of what his looks like. Of course that makes it hard to say that there were 7 tractors better than his too. It is much nicer than anything I used for years when we were farming, and that's a fact. I'm sorry if I upset folks, and didn't mean to do that. My point is not that I feel his complaint is crying, but bringing it up well after it was accepted is.

Edit: On reading the OP's post more carefully, he doesn't mention that he has had the tractor for a while, or even used it. When I read it initially, I assumed that he had. My apologies!

I do understand your point and understand you miss read his post. if he was just talking about any other tractor or other item I would agree with you, but for years and years Kubota made excellent quality tractors, and I think this latest batch of new tractors has taken some people by surprise. Who would even think to bend down and go over all the welds and stickers and paint on a brand new Kubota tractor, I wouldn't and I'm pretty fussy. This paying attention to these problems are new and not expected on a Kubota. So we shouldn't be too hard on anybody who doesn't notice these things until they get it home. Someone just doesn't walk in a pick up a new Kubota one day, some saved a long time, they plan, their excited It's a big day and a big deal for most, there's alot going on.

You do understand my post was not necessarily directed just about you it's this whole quality thing, I just hate the fact that we are loosing quality in just about everything we make these days.

When I saw those pictures of the bad welds on the new BX, I went straight out to check my B2620, and thankfully, it didn't look anything like that. I was pretty sure that I had checked everything over before purchasing the tractor, but really second guessed myself when I read that thread.

I looked my tractor over at the dealer in the spring before I purchased it. I believe that they get delivered to the dealers in crates, and they then put the tires on them. My tractor was on jack stands, and they were in the process of putting the tires on. There was a couple of nicks in the paint, one one the platform and one on one of the rims, which the dealer promised to touch up - they did this and I had a hard time finding the touch ups when the machine was delivered. Had I not seen the nicks at the dealers when I did, I would never have known that they were there.

When I started looking for a subcompact/compact tractor last winter, I found some BX1850s at a local dealer, and their paint had really faded. This really concerned me. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a machine that was going to look second rate a few months after I purchased it. Thankfully, the paint on the B2620 has held up like new. I park the tractor in my garage. The John Deere dealer in my area really does a good job in this department - everything in the JD lots looks brand new. They even keep the plastic bag on the seats.

The quality of my tractor is first rate. No complaints here. I would have been really p@#d off if my tractor had arrived with the defects complained of here. Most end users of the B series machines are commercial operators - I doubt that they would care about a few nicks and scratches. I on the other hand use the tractor for my own personal use. Its a real source of pride for me, and I want to keep it like new for as long as possible.

While the relatively small defects complained of may not impair the overall usability of the machine, they are indicative of a lack of attention to detail, and reflect poorly on Kubota. If they can't get the welds or paint right, what else have they messed up on? I'm hoping to have my B2620 for a long time - I don't plan on having to ever buy another tractor.

I'd like to know where all the Kubota models and their implements are being manufactured.

My dealer had Kubota ship my crated B3030 to him once I told him I was ready for my new machine. That was in April. I never saw the tractor until it arrived at my house from the dealer who is half-way across the country.

Fit and finish are exactly as I had hoped and expected when I decided to go orange this time around. I also have not heard of anyone having these sorts of issues on the B3030/2630.

So why is this happening with some of the new standard B's & BX's, some of which were manufactured the same time that my machine was?

I by no means have buyers remorse over the tractor. I am very happy with the work that this machine will do. In fact, it is not the tractor that I have the problem with. Other that some scratches that probably occured when the dealer switched wheels and tires, the tractor has very good paint. I can easily touch up the scratches. I understand stuff happens during the process of mvoing stuff around. I work on cars for a living and know what it is like, so I can't be, nor am very angry about these minor scratches. What really bothers me it the paint and welds on the loader and the paint on the snowblower crank bracket. I would have liked to inspect everything before accepting it, but I did not really have much of a chance and maybe trusted my dealer a little too much. As I posted before and as many of you know, snow equipment was very limited this year. All the implements were dropped of one by one at my house while I was at work. As each item arrived, I just wanted to get it all my implements and parts so that I could put it together and see how it all worked together. I know finally have everything that I ordered, but am still working straigtening out the financing and insurance paperwork that was messed up due to the delay in getting all the equipment. Before I go to me dealer with my concerns and issues over what was delivered, I am trying to get others opinions as to what is normal and what is not. I can live with everything if that is the way they all are. However, I am not sure this is the case. I am afraid of weld failure or rust and paint failure in the future due to the defects I have mentioned.

I am going to try and take some picture this weekend so others can compare to their own machines. I invite anyone with a new b to due the same, whether they think their tractor is good, bad, or average in terms of overall qulaity and fit and finish.

I purchased a B2320 in early December. I test drove one on the lot, but that is not the one that I got. A lot of people on this board say to look it over before you buy it, but my dealer has different locations and this tractor had shipped from Eliot Maine and the location where I test drove was Plaistow New Hamsphire. I was a little leery about not seeing the tractor I was purchasing, but it turned out fine. There is spatter on the loader and grille guard that seems to me could have easily been grinded off before painted. It doesn't really bother me. The paint itself seems fine. The welding on the loader itself is decent. There are some big globs that maybe could have been smoother, but I didn't think anything of it. Everything else seems fine, but I don't like the plastic on the fenders and the metal on the fenders seems very thin. But I never had anything that I bought brand new where I liked every single thing about it. Overall, I would say I am very happy right now, but I only have 6 hours on it.

I will try and take some pictures this weekend of my 2620 to show the good weld job I luckily have received. I dont use the tractor in winter yet so it is in the barn which is burried with snow/ice right now so hopefully I can get to it.

I know I know, beleive me its been very hard not using it. I couldnt afford this year the snow removal set up I will get in the future so I decided to let my neighbor plow me out this winter (its free)

I am having serious withdrawal let me tell you, I feel like I am trying to get off of herion or something. I have a few windows in the barn and when I go play w/ the dog or go sledding down my hill w/ the kids I take a peak in at her and then keep telling myself dont worry spring will be here soon

Good idea, My oldest daughter gets the mail though every day when she gets off the bus which is before I get home from school, I could put a stop to this though, I could also use to take out the trash

Should have thought of these ideas sooner as now I have snow piles about as tall as the barn blocking me in. Last few days we have received about an inch or more of ice so this stuff is now as hard as a rock. I guess I could fire her up and start moving some of the snow/ice. I am having my 50 hr. service done in mid Feb so I should get to play a little soon
