I purchased a B2920 with FEL, MMM, and a BH with Thumb a couple months ago. I now have over 70hrs on the rig. I do remember a couple very small scratches, but all in all the paint looked great. Keep in mind I was moving up from a B7100 I have owned for 25 years. The welds on the loader and the backhoe look just like the photo's in Bandaman's thread. I also have welding splatter on front guard and BH. I didn't even notice the welds or splatter till I read the thread, and had owned it 2 months. Honestly, they don't bother me. My previous tractor gave me many years of great service and I expect this one will also. I paid my hard earned cash for the quality engineering that goes into these products. The cosmetics are superficial. Quite simply...it is just a piece of equipment I enjoy using and it makes my quality of life better.

I agree with most of the folks about the welds should look better, and the splatter is silly.....but neither will effect the service I receive from the equipment nor the dealer. I don't earn a living with tractor, nor do i plan on selling it for many years.

Well I was going to write something but would ahve to say Ditto as to what this guys said as to my 2620 and I really had no problems with the paint or finish

Farmall45B, As I promised here are a few pics I took tonight of some of the welds on my B2620. I dont have electric yet in the barn and it gets dark here around 4:30pm so these are the best shots I could get. Although they dont show all weld locations this is a consistant on all of them they all look very similiar to the pics I have provided. Please note that the spots you see on pic 5 are not welding splats it is dirt. I have also recently looked at the thread started in this same section by Bandman titled is this acceptable quality on a new bota ..... If yours look anything like his than you have a very legitmate beef and I would not except anything but a new loader or a refund on the loader. After looking at mine tonight I cant believe they would even give out a product that looked liked his.

Hope this helps and feel free to use this in your case, I dont know if a picture shows this but I also checked and my tractor was built in Jefferson GA.

Best of luck and keep us posted

I am sorry that I have not posted pictures of my complaints sooner. It has been snowy, cold, and busy here that past few weeks. I found out that it is really hard to take good digital pictures of tractor parts. Here are some pictures of the weld splatter, peeling decals, questionable welds, and paint runs and color mismatch that I am concerned about.

Before everyone jumps on me an says it is just a tractor or you should have looked it over before you bought it, I do realize some of these issues I am going to end up just living with. My prime concern is weld integrity, I don稚 know a great deal about welding, except that some welds I have made with our MIG at work that look like the ones on my tractor have no penetration and break right off.

I really want to gauge weather my tractor is on par with the other new B痴 out there or did I get one that was not finished / quality controlled as well, and should I worry about weld integrity.

Here are some more. I am going to my dealer tomarow on some unrelated matters pertaining to difficulties with my sale, so I am going to look at some of the other Kubota equipment while there.

In my opinion, I don't see any big problems here. A couple of the welds aren't the prettiest, but not nasty like BANDAMANS. I could show you some spatter in the hard to get at areas on my loader too. If it were my tractor, the thing that would bother me the most is the runs in the paint on the snowblower crank stanchion. I'd just sand it down and repaint it though. I suspect that piece is made for Kubota by an outside vendor.

I agree with Ductape, My B2320 has some painted splatters, but the welds look fine. I never paid much attention to them at all and I one of those guys that wax their tractor once in a while. Could the splatters be ground off and be cosmeticly better? Sure, but I really don't think that is the objective here. In today's competitive price market, Kubota appears to be cutting sonme of the finish work, but I see no evidence of cutting it's function. That's my $.02worth.

Thanks,
Steve

Obviously they did not do a good job of prepping some parts before they painted them. I do realize that about all I can do here is express my dimay to corporate and move on with life. Should I worry about the welding wire that is sticking out of the ends of my welds? In my expeariance playing around with MIG welders, often if there is wire left behind there was not sufficient heat and thus poor weld penetration. Is this true?

I have a new B26 that I was on the lot for some time & It was in better shape than what some dealers new out of the crate look like I guess.
One thing about the welds has anyone had a failure? I have not ever read of one yet. Thus I would not worry about the welds.

On the paint if its beat up by the dealer don't buy it or go to dealer that does a better job of setting up equipment, there is a reason some dealers charge more THEY DO A BETTER JOB. On the powder coating of loaders and attachments you will always find that some cracks and hard to see areas are not covered as well as that is the nature of the poweder coating system most large companies use. I have toured the factory in GA that kubota has and it is impressive.

I purchased my 2920 a few months back and never really paid any attention to the quality of the welds. After taking a look they appear to be slightly inferior to a BX24 I just got rid of, and my fathers B7800. That being said, if you hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have noticed. Love my tractor I just wish I had my snowblower!

Only thing on the B2920 I noticed was see thru paint on the underside of the floorboard steps. You can see the primer thru the orange! Too cold to paint now will sand and spray in the spring
