Using your Blackberry as a modem

Not sure I am following this correctly. Apple use to have applications that would allow pass-through connectivity. A quick search on the net reveals, things like IphoneModem and netshare. Plus, application that are not officially sanctioned allow connectivity. With WiFi though, your limitd to hunting down hotspots. I think the other protocols offered by the telecos are getting wider coverage. CDMA.

The previous message mentioned using a cellphone as a modem.

IE.. plug your laptop ( non manc ? ) into the cellphone and use the cell phones high speed internet connection .. like 3g.. etc... vs wifi that you would have to hunt down.. etc.

This doesn't pertain to the modem question. Does anyone know if there is a Quicktime mobile program for the Blackberry 8830 so I can watch shows I have down loaded from iTunes?

Funny, that's what I'm finding out I like best about my blackberry as well, particularly in meetings with large numbers of people, where you can "hide" in the back if need be and actually get some work done without having to answer your phone

Instead of telling some people to call me, now I just tell them to e-mail me if they need an immediate response. Takes some time, but with practice, you can actually type pretty fast for those small suckers.

LOL isn't that the truth. I use to hate my Blackberry but I had a 7100 series and it was a horrible device but I was still lost without it. Seems the more devices I have the more I need. I never realized how good I can type with my thumb nails. I am never far from my Blackberry or I get separation anxiety. I completely understand the presidents panic over having to give up his Blackberry

Chris I think Riptides is correct, When I use my Blackberry as a modem it uses CDMA protocol. I believe the technology is about a year old now. I do not believe all devises are capable of this function. You are probably going to have to contact your service provider & possibly upgrade the device. I am not familiar with that device or it's capability's.
