I've been measuring up to have some hydraulic hoses made. It looks like I will have to have 16' to make it from the rear remotes to the grapple cylinder with enough slack for raising and lowering; scooping and dumping. So my question is what size of hose should I use. It appears there is some 3/8" on the tractor, but a lot more 1/4". Just was not sure if using 1/4" would make the grapple to slow? I have flow restrictors that came with the grapple that I can use.

in my case I wish I had used to 1/4 inch to slow it down

How long of a distance is your hoses? You have the same grapple, correct? (green's machine shop "the thumb") Thanks for the answer.

The bucket reinforcement looks great. You will find 1/4 inch lines plenty to run your grapple. I look forward to action pics!

Thanks, I started painting it, but had a recent snowstorm and that sidetracked some progress. I have a friend who cuts vinyl graphics. I had him make some KUBOTA decals for the new grapple.

Here is a link to his site. He does good work, you can create them online.B and E Graphix Decals for Radio Controlled Model Airplanes, You design online, we ship it. Under aircraft lettering click "start a new design here"

I got the reinforcement/tow hooks painted. I just mounted the grapple today and got it plumbed. The flow restrictors that came with it make it operate fairly slow, perhaps slower that I like. It pulls the motor down more than the other hydraulic functions as it working harder to push the oil through that small hole. Not sure what the orifice size inside the restrictor is, but it appears to be around 1/16", I threw in a pic of it. I used 1/4" hoses for all the connections. It is plumbed to the rear remote valve which has it own lever. I put 2 sets of quick disconnects in the plumbing. One where the loader can be detached w/o removing any plumbing or the grapple and the second near the grapple so it can be removed w/o pulling the rest of the plumbing. I need to make a bracket for the quick disconnects that are by the grapple and laying on the cross member of the loader. I got some bulkhead JIC adapters for that purpose, but haven't had time yet to work on that "sub" project. For anyone who cares here is a rough estimate of what I have in it:

Remote valve $not sure, in price of tractor.
Grapple $400
Welding $100
Tow hooks $17
Angle $free
Hoses/fittings $200
Paint $20

Did you try running the graple with out the restrictors ? I don't use them on my bx23, and I don't feel that it operates too fast. I don't run it at full throtle though.
