Altex, I bought my tractor at Lanford Equipment in Marble Falls. Jason Dodgen (sp) is the sales mgr out there. He started in service and worked his way up to sales mgr. He knows his product inside and out. He is good people.

I live in Dripping Springs.

According to the dealer I just bought my B9200Hst from about 1 1/2 months ago it should be good for this season. He said he had just serviced it. But I am trying to learn more about it. No manual with it but bought one on ebay just waiting for it to get here. In Ky what would be the best to use. Would rather just use one type if possible but don't know considering difference between summer and winter temps around here

One word of caution here. In many of the more recent models you'll notice that the HST fluid change interval has been doubled. This is assuming use of SUDT. You need to be checking your manuals for each tractor, some machines are okay on UDT. Some others say SUDT only. In these later model machines your spending an extra 30% for the fluid, but your only changing it half as often.

Ive done mine at reccommended intervales 3 times now.The fluid i drain out looks as clean as the day i put it in.It does seem to be a waste of money to change it so much.Iuse super utd, because the dealer told me it would operate better in extreme cold .Has anyone else questioned whether the oil needed to be changed so muchbecause it was crystal clean when you drained it? I actually saved mine in case i blow a hose,it will get me through a pinch.

Not scientific by any means, but on my Kubota I had this small hill that I always has to go up to get work done and with UDT I would always have to shift to LOW to get up the hill
I switched to Super UDT and I could stay in HIGH and it seemed to grip better.

I took the tractor in for service and had the hydro fluid changed but I never did look at the receipt since I asked for Super I never knew they didn't put it in.

I got home use the tractor and again I couldn't do the hill in HIGH. I called the dealer and asked which fluid he used and he told me UDT rather than super as I requested.

I let it go because I had it up for sale anyway but was proof enough for me that Super did something.

I've got to agree with CAT my BX series tractors and definitly my GR2110 needs SUDT for peak performance. My ZD21-60 has survived with stage 1 pumps for over 300 hours without the modifications recommended by Kubota. I'm an old believer in "you get what you pay for"!

Cat Driver /Ob1- that has my attention! I really like my little 3240 but it is definately not overpowered. I want the machine to operate as efficient as possible and still be fully protected against unnecessary wear. Well....guess I will have to suck it up and get the SUDT.

Here's a link that compares SUDT, UDT and some other commercial fluid.

Kubota Super UDT Fluid

For us in Texas, we wouldn't be concerned with the 1st graph, as the comparision was tested at -30 degrees C (-22 degrees F).

The 3rd graph is interesting. At 7K cycles the UDT losses it's friction coefficient stability and begins to fall. But the SUDT remains closer to stable. The question is, how long is 7K cycles? If 50 hours of time on the tractor is much les that 7K cycles, then it wouldn't make a difference on the first 50 hours. But according to my Manual, the next Transmission Fluid change is at 400 hours. It may be a good time to go with SUDT.

Does anyone know the average cycles the fluid goes through in 1 hour?

The link does it for me. I will be using SUDT.

You may be right, but on mine there is a difference. It does not turn black like diesel engine oil, but it does change. Initially, the fluid is so clear it's hard to tell the level looking at the site glass. After 250 hours, I can easily see the level. It looks clean, but it was so clear it was hard to see when new.

Last time I checked with Kubota dealers SUDT was not even available in Ontario Canada. The Kubota dealer I buy my supplies from recomends CASE Hy-tran for my Kubota because it is superior to SUDT. That tells me that there are options but SUDT is not one of them up here. You'd think if cold weather required SUDT then we'd have the stuff.
