Okay I tell my story...
My relatives owned a garbage business and at the age of 13 I was driving a Ford louieville 800 with a 20yd packer on it.
I would only do this in a private trailer park.
I used to pick up the garbage there by myself there we close to 35 stops with about 3 miles of road.
I never drove on the main road when I was 13 I had to wait untill I was 14:p

I also worked for my dads trucking company driving tractor trailer at the age of 16 ya I know no big deal right.....Well you try and do it in New York City!
Thank God we only had 40ft sea containers back then.

Has he been on Leno or Letterman yet? The Drive-Bys could make a cult hero out of him. ****, Hollywood should make a movie about it!

These stories about age and driving make me think about my step-dad. He joined the Army when he was 13 (big kid, joined with his 7 brothers) during WWII. He drove a tank across the Rhein into Germany when he was 14. He never got past 6th grade education. He stayed in the Service (moved to Army Air Corps, then Air Force). He worked as a lineman electrician in the Air Force. He tried to retire at age 43 (with 30 years of service!!). At that time, they realized they messed up - and wouldn't give him credit for those years he was under-age. He had to stay another 4 years before they would give him credit for 30 years. After he retired, he went to a suburb of Columbus, OH, and worked as a school district maint superviser until he finally retired for good. He died last year.

I think there are A LOT of kids who grew up or are growing up on farms or in families with small businesses that have done or are doing this stuff. I did. I plowed snow for 3 years before getting my driver's license. After school I would run most heavy equipment around the yard, loading trucks and the like. Never on the public roads though.

I have a theory that family members can be the best or worst employee in a family business.

that tells you the kid had brass just to drive on public roads that far. Its amazing no one caught him in between.

...Surveillance video from a gas station in Mount Pleasant, Texas, appeared to show the boy pumping gas Thursday into his family's pickup truck...

Even better, that is where I live. He must have jumped I-40 and rode it to AR, and then took I-30.... and that means he drove through DFW... at 13 and pulling a horse trailer! Heck I get nervous just driving an unloaded truck through that metropolitan traffic nightmare.

Yea sorry I wasn't here. I went on a missions trip to Philadelphia Sunday to Saturday. And before that I was on restriction. I haven't been on in a while.

Thanks for the complements!!! I wasn't the boy though. I don't wanna brag, but I probably could've done it. I wouldn't, though. I have driven very large and heavy things-trucks with trailers, tractors, came very close to driving a 42ft RV. Plus, I grew up doing this. I have no doubt he could have done it, and he may look older, like me.
