Hydraulic cooler on my CK25

And more from Modine just now:

Based on the design, our engineering manager seems to think it might be a Long (www.dana.com) or a Denso (www.globaldenso.com) unit. Again, sorry we can't be of more assistance.

If you're not able to pursue under warranty with Kioti, then I would suggest an aftermarket replacement company, e.g., Proliance (Proliance)

Mike, I replaced my cooler around 150 hours under warranty. The original was hard plummed. The replacement cooler had the hose kit which was to keep the cooler from leaking. Well, at around 300 hours, it's leaking again. I'm sure others here will eventually have the same problem. I'll start checking too for an aftermarket cooler. Being that there is room, I would like to install a larger cooler to help keep the oil temp down during the summer months. Does anyone know the approximate oil pressure at the cooler? I assume it's on the return side so it shouldn't be to high. The only other thing that would have to be met is making sure the rate of flow is the same or greater than the original.

Vic, Is it leaking in the same vicinity, bottom right corner?

Tnx for threads.

I wonder if anyone has this "wet" lower coil cooler syndrome and it just goes on forever and doesn't cause any more problems.

Mike

It will cause problems if you don't clean the cooler often. Also the fluid gets sucked back into the radiator and plugs it up too.

It's best to replace it. Not worth roasting the fluid and causing additional problems.

Pressure and flow aren't your only concerns. Do not block too much of the radiator. Cooling packages are engineered to make sure all circuits (two in this case) get the proper exposure to "clean" air. If you block more of the radiator than originally designed, you risk overheating the engine unless you increase the area of the radiator.

Oh PAB I agree it's best to replace it, but seems there's a question of the replacements leaking also, even though plumbed with the rubber hose.

Don, Looking from the front, my original one leaked on the upper right corner. The replacement is also leaking in the upper right corner. My CK30hst is now out of warranty and the replacement cooler looked no different than the original other than the short hose connections. I questioned if the short stiff hoses would do the job of eliminating enough vibration and for mine, I guess they didn't.
PAB-OH, Thanks for the info. Even on a hot summer day, the coolant temp stays in the normal range so I thought a little larger oil cooler wouldn't hurt it. I was thinking only 50% or so larger. Maybe a double core, thicker, and the same height and width wouldn't effect the radiator.

Oh yeah, anybody that finds a replacement especially a big bigger, please post.

How about the bigger Kioti Tractors, might they have a bigger oil cooler that fits?

Anyone with a bigger Kioti?

Mike
