I can see why you might use them if working on brakes all the time...Thankfully something we do very little of..!

Anti seize is the worst. If I even think about opening a tube up it is all over me.

If you've ever worked in electronics, then you know about heat sink compound.. stuff's hard to remove from skin.. and harder to remove from clothes..

I Wrench for a living, have used the gloves on and off, depende on my mood. currently i'm not using them, tired of them tearing every 10 minuted. When I worked at Firestone and did a lot of brakes I used the a lot more, and as the shop didn't buy them, even left them on and would wash my hands to get more life out of them.

I recently saw hd blue nitrile gloves at napa.. these seem to be as thick as those reuseable yellow kitchen gloves.. yet fit snug.. high cuff too.. way past wrist.. nice fit.

I'll tell you what not to use - Purple Powerョ Industrial Strength Cleaner Degreaser.

I spilled some oil and used this stuff on a rag to wipe it up and it dried out my hands so bad that the cracked everywhere. Instantly my hands started burning and bleeding through the cracks. That stuff was like acid.

The warning on the bottle said "Prolonged or repeated contact can cause irritation, defatting, or dermatitits." ya they left out the dried out skin cracking thing.

Took almost three days for my hands to come back to like using Corn Huskers and every lotion the wife had before my hands felt like skin rather that leather.

It did work on the oil though. So..... good on oil bad on hands.

Boy, there is a balance between too thick and too thin. The glove has to fit somewhat snug too, but not be brittle. You have to still be able to feel what your working on....... Probally why I'm not using then as much anymore, the shop quit carring the "ones" that actually worked for me....

amenities are usually the first things to go when budget cuts happen.. IE.. coffee , good towels, and gloves.. :)

I like the picture of your dog. If I ever get another dog it will look just like the
picture you show. I will name him Bob.

Cheers..Coffeeman

Well I see most on here don't turn wrenches for a living!
Grease doesn't bother me. I have made my living working on aircraft for decades and I guess it just doesn't bother me.
I have used lots of things. I like Alcohol.....yes rubbing alcohol...use lotion after.
Real bad I will actually use some Naptha or mineral spirits.

I have Goop but just don't use it with water from a sink. It does a job on your drain.

Someone said anti seize was bad.....never used aircraft sealant like PRC 1422 ...huh...
I know people that have patch tires with the stuff. NASTY....it never comes out of your clothes.
Years ago I worked for a smaller airlines.....we cleaned the gear with Varsol.....I used to come home smelling like that stuff......my wife hated those days.
Now I am Quality Control and don't usually get greasy at work.......I save that for home.....

Oh and if you will use Vaseline before you work it will make it easier to clean up.Just rub it into your hands....
