Are there any older front mount belt driven snowblowers 5'-6' out there? The only thing I can find are the Ford LGT types and looks like only up 42" or so.

:cool:What are you trying to find out.Any for sale or what.I do have a older ariens 48" front mount that I'am using on my massey gc2300 it's belt drive in one way but its also shaft driven off the tractors mid mount pto.I used to have it mounted on a Massey 1655 and this is the first winter using it on this tractor. It works just fine:D Larry

:p I've mounted it just like all the others.Needed the quick hitch and shaft etc and just mounted it like any other's.What I did have to do was put in a parrelle shaft drive gear box to beable to reverse direction. The old MF 1655 pto ran counter clockwise and the MF gc2300 runs clockwise .Had to change pulleys etc to get proper speed rotation.Since this picture was taken I've changed the angle of the gear box so to reduce the drive line angle.Letting the belt do the twisting.:DLarry

Loosely translated : I'm impressed with your workmanship and ingenuity.

Got any more pictures of it? Or maybe there are already some posted somewhere else on the forum already and i missed them? Where did you get the gearbox to reverse the rotation? A place like WW Graingers? Pretty impressive, anyway ! ;)

:pOnly other pictures are with the shields in place. The gear box was from hub city.in the USA .I bought it from a place I deal with in Winnipeg. The pulleys were changed to increase the speed and if you look in the picture you'll see a short shaft behind the pulley on the gear box. There used to be a idler pulley on there that drove the belt that's now being driven from the gear box.So all in all I didn't really change to much except for the gear box for rotation and the size of the pulleys and belts. :D:DLarry
