I do that all the time pushing drifts back.

Curl the bucket down, put it on the ground, uncurl it, and repeat, until your out.

Yeah, we've all been there. He should have left the truck sit and used a come-along and cable from the tractor to that big tree.

I bet he would get one at the hardware if he could get out of his driveway

Adam: Totally screwed. Tractor got stuck. Got truck and chains to rescue it, got truck stuck. Love the ride and lack of noise from the tires on the truck, but they are fair at best in the snow. If I could get out, I could get a come along and drag the tractor out anchored to the truck. But..don't have one. Crown of driveway is making truck slide towards fence (also why tractor is stuck). If we need to get out, we're taking the tw200 (the little bike). I shoveled for 2 hours to try and get the truck out, but no joy. It's still snowing like a mother out here and we've got close to 30" now. we are seriously not going to be able to leave the house for 3 days at the least. Not going to be over freezing until Monday, and then a whopping 35. Same for Tuesday and Wednesday it goes crazy - 36 predicted. I'm seriously not sure we'll be able to get out this week!

Best cure would be to buy a brand new top notch snowblower and tire chains for the tractor and truck. That way it won't snow again for 10 years.

Duallys are the worst in snow. He would have had better luck in a Honda Civic. I drove a 97 GM 3500 Dually 4x4 pushing snow. It stunk. You could go lots more places with the 99 Dodge 2500 4x4 and the F-150's which were also 4x4 as plow trucks. As a matter of fact the Dually GM was the second worst vehicle I have driven in snow period behind my F-150 Lightning.

Given about 30 - 40 feet of rope, chain or cable, there is a pretty easy way of extracting that tractor. No come-along required. Hint: That tree on the right is positioned perfectly for it. No you don't run the rope from the tree directly to the bucket. It's a little more convoluted than that...

He may very well be correct, but you should be able to get it out with the bucket, even without putting it in gear. I guess it's possible the back end is bottoming out.

We had a big time snow fall years ago at our business. the whole back yard parking lot, (gravel), was drifted about 4 ft deep. My father rented a bobcat, and went back there. About a half hour later, he walked in and said it was stuck! And it ain't coming out. I said, you can't get a bobcat stuck. He said bull. It was really buried, but It walked it right out for me.

I think it's about 30% machine, 60% operator, and 10% luck.

Had mine stuck once yesterday on level ground. R4's don't work well in snow. tires spun a hole down in the snow, was in an ice hole. Chains would have made all the difference. I couldn't use the loader to curl it out until I got off and dug some of the snow and ice away. Not nearly as bad a position as the OP, hope he got his out today.

My sons 4 wheeler is 4wd. He got that stuck. His Uncle got out with his 4x4 PU to pull out the 4WD. That got stuck. They had to get a huge John Deere from a neighbor to pull them both out.

I have almost been stuck in the same situation twice with this snow fall. Both times a little slow foot work helped on the fwd and reverse hydro pedals.

Using the FEL and curling the bucket can be used in most instances.

It can work if you don't slide back into the same hole everytime you go for a new bite with the bucket curl. That's what I have had happen on ice or snow packed to ice then slicked up by tires .
