Don't let the wife drive it. She'll hog your seat time. Use phrases like "Too many hills" "mower swings too wide and you may hit something like your car" You get the jist

Oh come on now. Isn't your wife a master operator after saving the yard?

My wife is actually a pretty good little operator. I'm just saying that if you want to scare someone away from using a tractor with a FEL, this thread is a good start.

Granted I was joking, but in reality, I was quite impressed with her quick thinking and ability with the skidsteer. You can tell her that I give her Thumbs up for a job well done!

I havent read all the pages but seems the first few cover the main points.

One I would add, and I may have missed it, but it is a real big one.

Watch for power lines. Always make sure you have a clear overhead when doing FEL work.

I just read all the pages and was wondering when someone would mention this one.

I you touch a power line with the FEL, or anything else, back away until clear. If you get tangled in them (power lines) JUMP FROM THE TRACTOR! If you touch an energized tractor while on the ground your wife's next husband will be driving it.

Are you the "next" husband? :D :D

...JUMP FROM THE TRACTOR!

Nope. Don't do it! High voltage electricity will arc right through you. Stay Calm. Stay in the Seat. It may be the longest wait of your life, but wait for the power company to de-energize the lines and then get off the tractor.

DON'T! WHAT EVER YOU DO use your loader or tractor to trim trees, don't even think about tying a person to the bucket and pulling him up into a tree to trim it.

If everyone stops what they're doing to watch what you're doing, it's time for you to stop and reevaluate if you should be doing it.
