One of the other items I needed to address with this Ironworker was when I was cutting plate on the shears with the guard in place I couldn't see the cutting edge of the blade because it was 5.5" past the guard and I would have to use a flashlight to see in there to position the plate.

I was at wally world today and found a set of flexible LED strip lights. There 12 volts so I used a transformer to power them up and the results was amazing. It took ten minutes to install and they came with 3-M two way tape already on them and are built very well. I installed them up out of the way of the blades. I think i'm on my way to having a pimped out Ironworker :laughing:

Pretty cool...what Wally-World department did you find those in? I avoid that place at all cost, unless I need a can of Krylon spray paint or a button battery the hardware store is out of.

Just don't turn that ironworker into a low-rider with a fart-can muffler and dingle balls.

Another reason I avoid WW is I'm afraid I'll end up as a Wal-Martian at www.peopleofwalmart.com since it never fails that I'm in my grubbies when I need said spray paint or battery.

Got the lights in the auto section of the store. As soon as I seen them I knew that's what would do the job. Really happy with them. It's nice to be able to view the cutting edge of the shearing blade now without having to use a flash light. Two more mods to do on this thing and it's where I need it to be. I used it every day last week so it's turning out to be a great addition to the shop. The next mod will require the use of the mill

pimp my ride woulda used blue or green neons Yor stuff is quite a bit more refined and useful. There are quite a few hacks out there who got their own TV shows (those guys outta northern NY come to mind). You could definitely add a level of sophistication to that venue. Heck, I might even get satellite service just for that

Is GA Eastern or Central time zone. Just curious as how late I often see you posting I figured you must be west coast.. You must get to sleep-in in the mornings. LOL I always have to be up by 5am.

Most of GA is eastern... except this teeny tiny area around Chattanooga TN...
