Paul, as usual very impressive work. I set a tote under mine to catch the slugs. I noticed something in one of your first sets of pics that has me scratching my head. You said you were building this out of aluminum, but I thought I saw 2 magnets in the one pic one the inside of the tray? Or was this something else. Let me know if you find any uses for the slugs. I am accumulating quite a few.

It looked like he might have had a piece of steel behind the aluminum so that the magnet could keep the two pieces square. The bottom was over a metal bench. I looked at that myself a couple of times.

Not sure what it would be on your tractor though. You already have it all.:thumbsup:

I don't think Paul has a heated/cooled leather massage seat in the tractor...yet. :)

If his tractor's anything like mine... it already has the massage, but heated and cooled would be interesting.

I gotta admit....... seeing that pic has ME a little turned on too !

pimp my ride woulda used blue or green neons :) Yor stuff is quite a bit more refined and useful. There are quite a few hacks out there who got their own TV shows (those guys outta northern NY come to mind). You could definitely add a level of sophistication to that venue. Heck, I might even get satellite service just for that :D

Thank you very much for your kind remarks. Not so sure if I'm deserving of them but heck, It was sure nice of you to say them anyway:eek:

I wish there was a TV show that one guy did all the work himself (or herself) and not just open a box and assemble it then tear it all down and send it out for welding, painting.... then put it back together and take all the credit for the work.

By having one person do all the steps it takes to do these jobs it would give others the encouragement and confidence to try it themselves.

Bill you got a good eye sir. Cyril was right. It was a little trick I used. I placed a 1/8th steel plate on the other side of the aluminum. The magnets on the squares were powerful enough to keep the parts square and in place until I tacked them. That's the part I hate about aluminum. Holding it in place is a real pain. Well for me anyway  Here's another picture for you so you can see it better. Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated :)

Good eye my friend

Here in Newfoundland we're well known for our seal skin items. I'm thinking about getting a seal skin cover for the seat.

Just don't make it from a Harp seal or the Tree-Huggers will come to your shop singing Kumbaya while trying to get you to eat granola and rice cakes. :D

Matt don't get me started. We've been harvesting seals for 500 years and there are organizations that make a good living of protesting trying to stop it saying it's cruel or unjust. It's a living for allot of our local harvesters but it's said to to be needless. I just wish they would concentrate on bull fighting, poaching or even safari hunting or rare animals in Africa.

Our seals have already just about wiped out or cod fish resources and the protesters are still going strong. I guess there still getting there money put in there accounts.

I'm having me a seal skin seat cover

To keep the boredom going here I figured I'd post a few more pics. When I got the Ironworker it came with a couple of guides that attach to the work tables. The only problem was the there are two work tables on this machine and only one set of guides. Yes I could have ordered a set BUT for $80. plus shipping and maybe a month to get them I decided to try out the mill and make a set. As milling goes it don't get much easier and there's not allot of skill involved here but at least I got an extra set of guides :D
