Southern USA. I forget if it is Alabama, Mississippi or Louisiana.

That "bottom" pic shows how the loose blades can contact each other, and possibly stick throwing the rc out of balance. Thanks

Are these from China?

These Hawkline/International Cutters are made in the USA. When I had more time, Back in the eighties, I drove to the factory in Bethel, Oh. and loaded my 2 ton flatbed truck to the Max. It was about a 3 hour drive from where I live. Ken Sweet

I've never seen a cutter where that wasn't possible. I'm sure they exist, but it's certainly not a problem.

Oops. I remembered incorrectly. I tried to buy a bigger version from Ken but he couldn't ship anything bigger than four or five feet in size.

4 and 5 ft ships cheap. We can ship any size, however freight costs go up a lot when you go to the 6-7-8-10 ft machines. Ken Sweet

when you going to have a PHD sale? Seems a bit off season to be selling rotary cutters, I purchased mine in the spring and paid 1200 ish for a RC2060. 800 seems like it would have been a better deal.

We have the Leinbach PHD for $575. This thread was started more for informational purposes than anything else. Ken Sweet

I really hoped it would not come to this. I am going to show my bottom :D This is the underside of all of this Hawlkine/International series cutters. Notice how it protects the blade carrier in forward and in reverse. In 25 + years, I have never had a blown gearbox or bent output shaft on these International/Hawkline cutters (4-5 or 6 ft). BTW, You get the full 4 ft cut with these machines. They measure about 4 inches wider than 4 ft to accommodate for blade clearance. We do sell Hawkline entry level cutters that weigh much less, where weight is a concern. Ken Sweet

About that blade carrier protection... it looks to me that is to make up for the lack of a stump jumper.... which I would not consider ideal. Apparently most rotary cutter manufacturers don't consider it ideal either b/c they use actual stump jumpers.
