YIKES - I always worry about that happening to me. Glad you wernt hurt.

When I financed my tractor through Kabota in 2002 I had to get a signed staement from my insurance co. stating that the tractor was covered before Kabota would give me the loan. Had to put a rider on my HO policy but it wasnt to expensive.

Mine is financed through Kubota just because of the 0% and I don't have any extra insurance? My homeowners said it was covered on my property:confused: maybe I should check just how covered it is:ashamed:

I did the 0% thing on my JD and full coverage insurance from JD Credit Corp for the length of the contract (36 mo) was required as part of the deal. The insurance wasn't very expensive, but JD Credit certainly made certain their butts were covered! I'm surprised Kubota Credit didn't make you do the same thing. Read the fine print, it might be included in your payments.

It took me a while to read through all 5 pages of responses (slow reader), but that time allowed my tears to dry. Sure am sorry you are experiencing such heartache.

Question: If a person did have homeowners that would cover such an incident and had insurance through their tractor financing, could he receive payment from both?

"could he receive payment from both?"

I think they call that insurance fraud?

Yes.

After you file a claim, your homeowner's policy is not renewed and you cannot find another company to insure you.

Your automobile insurance premium is raised because you filed for bankruptcy.

Does this sound implausible? Think again. A claim on your homeowner's policy or information that seems to have no bearing on your driving ability can make your premiums skyrocket. Worse, your insurance might even be cancelled.

Claims you file - sometimes even inquiries about your coverage that do not result in a claim - can appear in a little-known database called CLUE or its smaller competitor A-PLUS. And your insurance "score," which is largely based on your credit rating, can determine how much you pay for homeowner's or automobile insurance.

I'd bet it is .. may be wrong.... its probably calculated into your payments.

my first kubota was financed at the zero percent and I did not have extra insurance - just homeowners. On the new tractor I am paying extra money for the insurance - it is pretty hard to miss on the contract.
My homeowners had too may restrictions and I did not feel comfortable without extra insurance.

If the OP has a loan on the tractor it's insured cause banks won't loan on uninsured items.[/COLOR]

Depends on what type of loan one gets.....

Ok I have good news to post. My insurance will cover it minus my $500 deductible. Allstate is my company. I at one time carried a separate policy for when I would transport it on my trailer and help friends but cancelled that two years ago. I asked my agent last year if my tractor would be cover if a tree fell on it which is ironic. I just didn't specify at the time if I fell a tree on it. The claims person asked if it was caused by wind an I told the truth and that I cut the tree.

I am taking it to my dealer Wednesday. The pictures may be making people think this is worse than it is. Basically from what I can see, everything from the gas tank to the steering wheel is gone. The metal surrounding the tank didn't get touched. The floor looks fine. The left fender got dented but could probably be straightened but if it is covered I will have it replaced. My control valve seems fine but the lever is bent. Fortunately the rear tire stopped further damage.

I do understand the "rules" for safe cutting. I heat with wood and have cut hundreds of trees down without incident. This case I was cutting a group of trees down working my way back to the tractor. Had on my chaps, helmet, and worktunes headset. Maybe I should shut off the radio and pay more attention to my surroundings. I will definitely be more careful and not try to get the "good" parking place anymore.

My dealer said things are slow this time of year. They are charging $70 for the estimate which I can understand. There are a lot of parts to look up.

Thanks for the condolences. I purchased it new five years ago and have worked it hard. It was not a parade tractor but it is in great shape minus a few scratches from being on the woods. Maybe everyone should guess the repair bill and see who gets the closest.

Now that's a classic statement!
