Again, Facts? Finding someone that agrees with you doesn't prove anything. If that was true we would be done here because jonavan agrees with me.

Here is an example of Facts.

Commercial motor vehicle groups. - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

The FMCSA even the answers question point blank for people that can't read.

Interpretation for 383.91: - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

They even made a picture if that wasn't enough.

Yea and there is more then one misinformed person on here that reads your wrong information.

You really are A PIECE OF WORK! Read what it says over 10k trailer let me say it sloooow for you. The 26k applies to a single vehicle or truck and trailer combined. Then READ or,or,or a trailer in excess of 10k. Which in this case the orignal poster would need a trailer rated at over 10k to haul around a M59. I tried but I just can't fix stupid!!

IT IS A TWO PEICE EQUATION.

IT IS NOT ONE OR THE OTHER.

YOU HAVE TO MEET BOTH PARTS TO MAKE IT A CLASS A VEHICLE.

That is only a guide line. The state modifies and enforces its on rules and Reg's. I am just like you it proves nothing. As I stayed before the federal government does not run my state. And my state only uses this as guidelines as every other state.

Then show us where the difference is.

You can not seem to back up your statements with facts or show where I am wrong. You just keep repeating the same jibbrish.

You still don't seem to understand how interstate commerce works as well.

Did you look at the flow chart?

What if I have a truck with a GVWR of 19k towing a trailer with a GVWR of 10k. What do I need then?

I will debunk everything you put up just like you try to do to every poster on here . That has to do will anything. You know it all the all and mighty Duffster.
I seen a prior post were you try to rattle diamond and belittle him.

But you know what I don't care, you should be remove from this forum and banned. From this one and many others were I have seen you post and argue with poster over and over again.

I Own and operate and transport a L45 with a 10k trailer around all the time and I know I am Legal. And have the papers to prove it. So say what you want because it falls on deaf ears with me.

If I were you I be more concerned with you state's affairs and what your democratic legislators are during to your state. Go Scott Walker

Ok, then let me quote the exact line for you.

Any combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more if the vehicle(s) being towed has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of more than 10,000 pounds. Vehicles in this class include:

The relevant word is if not or.

All of these weights are GVWR, not actual load in the truck/on the trailer.

The class A cdl is only needed when both the power unit exceeds 26001 AND the trailer exceeds 10,000.

Class B is needed when the power unit exceeds 26001 AND the trailer is less than 10,000.

Neither case would be true with a 3/4 ton pickup and a trailer in the 12-14k range.

I've gone over the scales in that configuration and the State Police said have a nice day. I'm sure if I was in an improper configuration we would have had a conversation about it as many other vehicles were getting citations.

I believe all the states have adopted the Federal Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986, and are part of a nationally uniform system of classifying, testing, and licensing commercial vehicle drivers.

Frankly anyone that can READ can click the links I post and read the rules and regulations for themselves and see the you are blowing smoke up everyones arse.

I just hope the moderator will also see and track you post and see the pattern you have:

What? A pattern of posting facts and quoting the regulations?

What if I have a truck with a GVWR of 19k towing a trailer with a GVWR of 10k. What do I need then?

How come you can't answer this question?

Repost since it got "skipped":

This topic has clearly gone astray, but it interests me.

I have been reading Kubota literature until I am blue in the face about L39/45. It appears one of their MAIN selling points is that these machines are "easily transported by a 3/4 ton pickup truck and 10,000-pound GVWR trailer". They go further to say "requires ONLY a C class license in most states".

10k is a magic number somewhere along the way.

It didn't get missed.... I thought it was obvious from the regs that were being quoted.

If you have a > 26,000 tow vehicle, then a < 10,000 trailer means you only need a B CDL to move the combination, rather than an A CDL.

You'll have to excuse me for getting somewhat back on topic here, but could you tell me why the 5240 wasn't big enough for you? I'm asking as that is the tractor I'm eying.....

Thanks.

I am still very happy with the M59, granted it's pretty pricey and you can find used "Big Iron" for about the same money. A primary concern when I was looking to upgrade from 5240, I needed to keep the weight in check with my tow vehicle and needed the versatility of being able to install a 3 point hitch. I'm not saying its the perfect machine but for once in a long time I am no longer shopping for a replacement.
