Well no new info. They took the tractor two days ago to "fix" the valve

Guessing it will be weeks before they call me

Wait... is that a light at the end of the tunnel? :D

...either that or it's a train meeting us in the middle of the tunnel

PS... I'm pessimistic usually but you make me sound like an optimist!!!

What I am saying is that I grew up in an era where the dealer was the most important thing, but am coming to the realization that today is the world of corporate trained mechanics, corporate procedures, corporate financing, corporate warranty, and corporate sales promotions. When I grew up, ALL of these things were handled locally by the dealer with help from the factory and his local bank but all these things were basically the local dealer's decisions to make. He bought his own tractors, floor-planned and sold them, and paid to train his own mechanics...on and on. Now these decisions are more commonly made above his level by the company that manufactures the brand that he sells. rScotty
We had a local snowmobile dealer that was known for excellent service and because of that machines were going out just about as fast as "corporate" would send them. Then corporate wanted him to build huge showroom and bring in a bunch of brand merchandise. Dealer was mom/pop shop and decided he would give up franchise so he could continue providing excellent repair work rather than be a merchandise hawker. Now the nearest dealer for that brand is over sixty miles away and by all accounts struggles to keep head above water. "If it ain't broke down't fix it."

well some how the dealer fixed my 3 point hitch from being jerky, they said that they put a new valve in and got it adjusted properly and now its smooth as glass. i was shocked to see how smooth it was.

No more 1/4"ing for me i have full control of the valve and i am happy, so now if they can get my backhoe installed and sunshade i will be happy 1 month later

I was really suprised that they were able to fix it with another L3800 valve. It works like a Grand L valve i asked him to get me the part number so i could share it with you guys but they did not have it in front of them. Makes me wonder if they put a grand L valve in it

Here is a quick clip of how smooth it is, The only way to make it jerky now is to actually jerk the controls
Like i did in the last 10 seconds of the clip

Holy Crap!!! That's better than a Grand L... Seriously, if that IS a L3800 "normal" valve... there is a bunch of crappy ones out there.

..But my money is on the fact that Grand L valves will still work in our tractors. That is so friggin' smooth I just can't believe it's anything BUT a Grand L...:2cents: YMMV, IMHO HC (repeating the first two words)

Good for you AND your dealer!!! I might be guessing that you are happy with it???

i know thats what i was saying, Its smooth like butter. You could pick up a 5 gallon bucket of water on a boom pole that was full to the brim with water and not spill a drop!! he said he just got the new valve and took it apart and reset the valve to make sure it was with in specs. said that if its of a few hundred thousandths of and inch that it will jerk like it was.

i wonder why other dealers are not able to fix the rest of the 3 point hitches this way. maybe i just lucked out after waiting and being mad for a month

Because it a bunch of work to get to the valve. I assume you have a new gasket just below your seat area. SHOOT if they would just let us know how to Reset the valve and what the specs should be... That would be awesome.

So how do you feel about the title of your thread, now??? :cool2::drink::dance1: (maybe a little?) I know you still got jerked around some...

so wait are you saying that all the valves can be "reset" and made not to be jerky? why wouldnt kubota just say that rather than saying just deal with it.

Im still kinda irritated that it took so long but i am very suprised and happy that it works like it does, i was sitting on the tractor thinking to my self. Here we go now i can watch it be jerky again but to my amazment it was awesome

See the post before the last one... Honestly, I can not see the jerky valves being out of spec that bad to change that much... it would explain why everyone is not bitching about all the units... so as myth busters would say "plausible"?

*IF* it was just out of Spec... why did they have to order a NEW valve? Could they not just open your tractor up, get the valve and "reset the {old} valve to make sure it was with in specs."

I bet you this is surely NOT going to be the end of the jerky valve.

On a personal note, Thanks for hanging in there with this... the last guy was Tarred and Feathered out of TBN. I'll see if I can find that post...

Ahh, found it All done Plowing... one of TBN's "friendly" moments...

I dont know what to say... I am astounded... Please Please try to beat out of that dealer what really happened. Was it a grand L valve? and what kind of adjustments can you make to the valve? Could you get your hands on a technical service bulletin? would they show it to you? Thousands of guys with L2800/L3400/L3700/L3200/L3800 tractors would like to know that little piece of knowledge:licking: That is the best I have ever seen, That is better than Tegs's video. That went up smooth as silk, That is just amazing.
