middle buster use

Last year the subcut dug them just fine, this year, a different tractor, but same plow. Pontiac Reds and Kennebecs await, but they'll keep for another few weeks, no hurry. I'd never go back to digging by hand.

What brand of middle buster did you use, and is it a scut specific design?

I'd like to get one for my cub/yan scut. Just going by qhat TSC sells the xb is the obvious choice, but it looks a bit weak IMO.

Well, that is exactly what I used. A TSC County Line XB made by who? Tarter? KK? Doesn't matter. It is a nice tool, fit for a subcut, but works just as well on my B2320. No complaints. I paid all of $120 with coupon or some such. One of my favorite implements and extremely useful.

My BIL purchased a middlebuster from TSC a few years back for on his JD790..........It works just fine on my Massey GC2400. I don't think the XB series is necessary, as far as middlebusters go..........and may not be desireable either(I would need to actually use the XB series to determine this).

Thanks that is encouraging.

My primary concern with the standard cat1 is the height. I know it will mount up, but I'm worried I won't be able to get the plow perpendicular to the ground. I would be using it to primarily turn over soil. We do have hard soil/clay here, so on one hand I would prefer the more robust cat1, but I'm afraid if I can't get the angle right it will just skip over the ground.

I have hard soil, with clay 4 to 6 inches underneath, I had no problem at all.............except that my turf tires don't dig well:laughing::laughing::laughing:

EDIT: Your SC2400 is close to the same machine I have............buy it and forget it. TSC tends to handle equipment for smaller tractors from what I've seen. Just be sure to measure the width...........I'm not sure if the SC2400 will accept full CAT1 width.........Massey will

Boone, the B2320 is a nice gardening tractor. It is almost as nimble as the BX, but ground clearance up the ying yang. That is why I bought it.:laughing:

When I'm playing in the dirt, I sometimes wish I had bought a B2920, but when I am mowing under the trees, I am glad I have the BX. It's tall as it is.
