I watched the video again, and the camera angle had me fooled a little. It doesn稚 look nearly as bad as I initially thought. Have you tried what happens when you take those teeth off? They look useful for rocks, not so useful for dirt.

What doesn't look bad ?? It does nothing. Took twenty minutes to dig a foot

I may be way off here, but looking at the video, I don't see anybody at the controls of the 3ph. Have you tried holding down on the 3ph lever while it is trying to dig?

That's a good point - The 3PH does have to go all the way down.

Again, though, surely the tractor dealer that visited would've known that & conveyed it.

The 3pt control is position control, not up/down. It should not need anyone at the lever to keep going down from the weight of the auger. There is no down pressure from the 3pt, only lift pressure. As long as the lever is set all the way down it will go to the limit of the arms with no intervention required.

Yes the three point lever is all the way down. If you watch the.video you see me raise it and lower the auger all the way back down. It just doesn't go down into the ground at all. I'm gonna have to do the rest of this with a shovel

Everything looks set up right, appears you just have a soil that almost lubricates the teeth. I'm familiar with not digging but here its because you've hit rocks and the digger thrashes around.

I've seen in challenging soils people weld or braze a bit of chunky carbide to the end of the teeth to make them more aggressive when pentrating. Its common when plowing dry soil that the plow won't go into the ground at all unless you have the sharpest of sharp points.

Im a bit lost here. Is Massey Ferguson the only ones who can put down force on the three point hitch? I can almost lift the back of the tractor with mine. I bet it would dig a hole with a two by four stud if you could bolt it to the PHD.

Most (all?) MF's don't have downforce unless you added a kit. Russian Belarus tractors are the only ones I know of that offer it currently.

My 3PH drops on gravity.

OK, so you bump the 3PH lever down to get a certain amount of 3PH drop?

If so, does this mean you need to stand there to be ready to bump it down again once the 3PH has dropped all it's going to from the previous downward bump you gave the lever? And repeat as needed until the 3PH is all the way down?
