New to the Group - Considering YM336

I have a 276D/loader. (27 engine HP) It's a real nice tractor. I paid $6K. It had 870 hours. I bet you'll like it.

I need the strength of the FEL, but would love a belly mower and not have to deal with a deck hanging off the back.

I see a bush hog listed on the description paper in your picture. That will work fine for a rough cut, but I've never heard of a belly rotary cutter, only a belly finish mower. And a finish mower is what most people use to cut a lawn; a rotary cutter is usually too rough of a cut. So it might depend on what you're looking to mow.

Does the 336 have a mid PTO? If not, woods still makes belly mowers that run off the rear PTO (no idea if it would fit or not): finish mowers - vintage tractor undermount. Probably expensive though.

Hi guys. Yes, Brush hog listed with a "questionalble" wheel. Looks like this machine has the accessory Hydrolic hookups on the Rt. Rear fender with valve body.

It's listed as a 1986 unit with about 3180 hours. Has 5' tiller, 6' Discs, 6' Brush mower, loader (HD unit from what I can find and worth about $2500, but I need the loader), and 6' scraper blade. AG tires, but woud think with the extra/bypass hyd lines, something could be 'made up' as a finish mower underneath.

Biggest problem I have with the mover is that my junk MTD is on its last leg, and these bigger machines tend to tear up the grounds unless it's pretty dry out. Would use it to grade/maintain the 200ft drive, move snow, some sorf of forks for the FEL to move pallets on/off box trucks etc. Any further ideas before I roll over to give this the 50cent look over?

It wont be there long is my guess. I was off on my US Yanmar specs sorry but I knew one of the others would straighten me out. I think the 336 is the better machine of all those. my .02

In my experience a rough cut will cut nearly as smooth as a finish mower especially with sharp blades ymmv as always but thats my experience and I am not extremely picky either long as there aren't any mohawks I am good. :thumbsup:

Thanks Doc... My thoughts exactly. Found a woods belly retrofit that drives off the rear PTO for $400 if need be. Maybe sell off the brush and get the belly? I'll try the belly first naturally. I'm not picky either.

Would really love to have a log splitter on this guy. Saw someone else selling a "yanmar" splitter? Did they ever make one, or is it just setup for the YM 3pt?

Man do what you want but I would forget the belly mower on that tractor but thats me. And yes you will want the loader thats for sure the best thing on it besides the Yanmar diesel engine and the powershift trany!

3 pt stuff is easy once you get the hang of it and a quick hitch setup right on all your stuff you wont ever go back to std 3 pt.

For one you will loose all your ground clearance and it will be a lot harder to swap out when you are knee deep in snow or trying to motivate in deep dirt tilling etc and that mower is in the way. my .02

The 336D is a great tractor. What I am wondering about that mid mount mower is if it would even fit the 336D. I cant recall ever seeing one with a belly mower, only 187's which are considerably smaller. For pallet forks, I would suggest making a set that use the same pins that your bucket uses. make a similar set up to Kubota's QA system which uses a hook on the top pin and the bottom pin is inserted into the heal of the QA plate. This would be a much better set up for pallet forks vs/ the ones that clamp on the lip of your bucket because they have a tendency to bend buckets. Thanks Much JD. I totally agree that a true fork mount to the FEL mounts is the best way to go. I friend up the street with an "L" series Kubota has this setup and it rocks.

I'm going to forgo the belly option and see how the brush mower does. Also want to add ROPS, but a grand is a lot of money. Same with turf tire setup (at almsot $1500), but good upgrades IMO. I'm heading over at 5:30PM Eastern to look/deal on this and hopefully will come home with a new toy.

I need to put ROPS and a set of pallet forks on the FEL, so I'm considering selling off the tiller and the discs. Anyone interested?
