I do not see where that is a problem. The further out the weight, the more effective it is. My 7' cutter is a more effective counterbalance than my 7' box blade even though I think the BB is the same weight or a little heavier. The only issue I see is that I have to watch more carefully where the rear end is if I am maneuvering in tight quarters.

I'm curious as to why you see an extended weight as a problem.

Ever have that rotary cutter sway on you during transport? Even with the sway links, you won't get all the sway out.
On a level area, you'll still feel it...especially if you turn too fast.
Now, think about that sway when the cutter is mounted to a 2200 lb tractor...operating across a slope. Wouldn't be too difficult getting into a "tail wagging the dog" situation.

No, I haven't had it sway on me. I have stabilizer bars and it doesn't move any noticeable distance sideways. But I can definitely understand what you are talking about if you have side to side sway.

About the best I could ever get, once adjusting the sway links (turnbuckles) tight...I'd still see 3" or so sway at the cutter's tailwheel.

I never used my cutter for ballast (even though it's the heaviest implement I own). As you wrote..you really got to watch it in close quarters due to it's length.
I do transport it across a sloped lawn to get to a field next door (I used to maintain the whole field...about 5 acres) and I could really feel the cutter's weight everytime it shifted. I wasn't going across the slope...but even downslope was somewhat uneven.

If you bought KTAC Insurance, why would you spend your time guessing on what might be wrong and potentially damage your tractor even more? In my opinion, the only advice you need is to call your dealer and have them come pick it up and check it out for you. It will cost you $250 for your deductible (that's it). We will pay for the repair and transportation to and from the dealership. In most cases, the equipment would have already been inspected, repaired, and delivered back to you by now. Just saying... you have insurance for a reason so why not use it?

(Why am I trying to get you to use insurance? Because I hope you will keep buying Kubota after you see how we take care of our customers. Everyone WINS!)

PS - When I refer to "you", I mean anyone that has bought our insurance.

(Pardon the thread creep here, please.)

Ktac, I just bought a used 2008 B2620 with 112 hours from a private party . Can I get insurance on it? And how much? You can PM me if you like. Thanks.

All is good! :) I let the engine sit for 2 weeks and it started up just fine today. I continued my loader work and all went well. After moving to a more flat area, I could see that the hydraulic fluid level is fine too.

I chose to not pull the plugs for two reasons. One, the gas tank assembly would need to be removed as it sits on top of the engine. Two, a Kubota mechanic said I "should" be fine. Very rairly does oil get through on these new engines and if it does, it "should" drain back over time.

Thanks again for all the help.

Glad it turned out well for you. I've had a couple scares with my tractor. Fortunately for me everything turned out ok for me too. I did learn something from this thread. I had noticed my tractor is more tippy side-to-side when a heavy load is in the FEL but I didn't know why. Thanks for posting about your episode. I'm sure it has helped others too.

The waiting would have killed me. I'm not an impatient person but waiting and trying to guess how long to wait wondering if any oil would drain back or not would have drove me nuts. Glad it worked out.
