I came for the info. I stayed for the entertainment.
My solution is as follows:
1. remove cap from damaged can.
2. insert hose and remove liquid.
3 remove suction hose and replace cap on damaged can.
4. Lower tailgate on pickup truck and place can on tailgate.
5. Start truck, turn up radio, drive reasonably fast not looking back.
6. head to local hardware store, give them $6.35, problem solved!

Not really...somebody will stop and pick it up off the road or shoulder, and then when they get home they will go online and do a search:
