No, but she will be 83 in February and still gets out and works. I did finally get her to quit getting on the roof to clean the chimney but she hasn't given up her small chainsaw. She goes dancing EVERY Friday night at the local DAV.

Holy cow......thats amazing. My hats off to her.

Nope. New Hampshire law specifically insulates me from people who are recreating on my land. I am only liable if I make a booby-trap. That's also why the additional liability insurance to cover the land costs zero. Zero.

OTOH, if my land is posted, and someone is trespassing and they get injured, the owner CAN potentially be found liable, since they aren't insulated by 'open to recreation' laws. Posting land actually INCREASES owner liability. Ironic, isn't it?

Have lived in NH for 62 years & never read a law that says posted land leads to increased liability. How about a reference??? MikeD74T

Here in Idaho, if you dont post your land and allow for it to be used for public access...you can LOSE your ability to fence off your land later on. You've made it public domain so long (7 years if i remember) you forfeit the right to enclose it.

Mines all fenced, but not so high as to stop wildlife. I have moose, deer and elk on my land. There are holes and paths under the fence for other critters. I like non human wildlife.

Here's a video i made about 2 years ago of a moose in my front yard jumping my fence.

I'd have to doubt you're statement regarding losing your ability to fence your property later unless there was a written agreement about public access. My neighbor recently fenced off access to the river (yes, here in Idaho). The public was up in arms. Lawsuit was filed. Court ruled in favor of the landowner. Yes it was used for access for more than 7 years.

Its held up here in No. Idaho alot of times.. Mostly around lake front houses.

We had an issue go to court here on a trail system opened up by property owners. When one owner decided to fence across it, the others went to court. The land owner was forced to remove his fence (happened in Bayview)

They needed a better attorney Nobody's telling me what I can and can't do on my property unless their name is on the deed. I ran into a similar incident with the local city. The city started an action for a prescriptive easement across my property because I locked a gate and stopped public access. I asked for an analysis of public benefit.....haven't heard any more about it.

Doubling back to signs a bit, I have always favored..."CAUTION, LAND MINES. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK (BOOM)."

About the signs. We had problems with kids breaking into the barn. The Officer who came out to check it out suggested private property no trespassing signs. I couldn't quite understand why I needed the signs on a locked barn but a put them up. The guy at the hardware store suggested tacking them up above where people could reach. That worked but I made the mistake of getting the inexpensive plastic signs. They have all blown off. I should have gotten the metal signs.
