72 inch Rachet Rake on sale at TSC $199

Instead of the ratchet hook up can you mount it to the bucket permately? I'm not in love with ratchet binders, I've broke to many on my trucks binding loads . . .John

I wouldn't hook it to the bucket permanently. It severely limits the main uses of the bucket - digging and scooping.

I understand your concern with the rachet straps. I've used my RR quite a bit already and the straps do still look like new. I will be fabbing some sort of quick mount for mine though. The strap setup doesn't look very professional, which is what my customers expect.

Tried out the RR today. It does pretty good. I have a Bobcat CT230 with a 60" bucket. The 72" rake fits right close to the edge of the bucket. One tab outside and the other tab wad inside the bucket.

It does better on loosed stuff and not so good on making new contour. It does not replace the box blade for this task. It does really good on stuff that allows the rake to sit with even pressure across the whole rake. Example would be in the woods I was clearing a trail and it was wide enough and all on the same grade so the rake was able to push all the leaves and sticks with no problem. As long as you want to go in one direction it works good, in order to keep pressure on the rake, it keeps the front wheels off the ground.

I just checked my local TSC store, they do have them but not at $199. They said 249 for a 52" what goes with this price? . . .John

A quick review so you don't have to look at the previous 300 post.

TSC is discontinuing The 72" because most people that buy the rake have smaller tractors FELs. $199 is the twice reduced clearance price for the 72" only. The other sizes are regular price. Some here are modifying the 72" to fit a smaller FEL. My opinion, for just $50 I would buy the smaller rake and not have to go though that trouble.

Well thanks to all TBN members to help me spend some more $$$:laughing:

Called my local TSC and they didn't have one. They were able to check inventory and located 2 at other TSC's several more miles away. Sooooo...after a nice road trip, got one in the back of the pickup! looks pretty heavy duty. Is everyone else's yellow? Thought I remember seeing black ones.....

I dn't have to provide pics do I???:laughing:

mine's yellow...and when the tsc guy showed it to me i knew it was meant to be...same exact yellow as our cub yanmar tractor.
