New (to me) JD 110 Coming this Way!

Well... finally home. Between needing to order parts, the service guy waiting for one of the old 110 lawn mowers and the owner/salesman being out with bronchitis delayed the process a little, it got here.

It does look really nice and operates very good as well. The guy who dropped it off and was also servicing had a copy of the receipt and though it was an excellent buy. Said that it took grease well and all looked really good.

Although the ground is too soft for it I did toy around a little on the drive. Sure is a bigger machine than my 3120. The SSQA is a lot easier than the JD QA, lot faster.

The only problem I had was I couldn't get the front hydraulics to hook up to the grapple. It just didn't want to budge onto it. Do I just have to push harder or is there some kind of 'trick' to get it on. Know what I'm doing wrong?

Looks great, in the end I think you have a setup that will work for your clearing and cleanup.:thumbsup:

Aren't you glad you skipped all the junk and wound up with a good clean like new setup?

Sure do, quite a bit off what I was first looking at, if you do remember (Case 590). Although it is a lot more machine than the 110, now, looking back, a lot more machine than I really needed. A LOT MORE. I could't be happier with this thing and I really can't wait to get it up to the cottage and do some damage:thumbsup: There's been quite a few that could've done the job, but this will definitely make it a lot easier and for the slight difference, I'm happy.


I did forget to mention, with the 110, they delivered a new cutting edge (wow way heavier than I thought!), new grille mesh (I wanted it too look brand new), and a new JD grease gun, must say, that JD green and yellow is much nicer looking than the generic on I had before.

Looks great! Can't wait to see it working! Blade might be a bit big for the 3120? I put a light weight 7 Foot blade on my 5310 and it wasn't that great. I had a better experience with my 5085M on it.

Dave, that is a really good idea! I sat looking at my tools and what could 'git r done' and I couldn't figure anything out. I know I've got one of them around and I think I may have been staring at it!

Edward, 3120 doesn't handle the box blade. It actually came with the 110 but I needed to move it, so I just put it in the 3120. Definitely know when it's back there and the hitch even struggles picking it up. I wouldn't try using the box blade with the 3120 though.
