LCD readout on BX24 - worthwhile replacing or not???

After I got the new one from the dealer, I washed mine and it wound up with some condensation in it. I actually seperated the plastic and dried it out, then started removing it each time I wash it. I thought about adding a mechanical hour meter so I did not have to worry if it ever went out again. Never got that far though.

Not to resurrect an old item but just wanted to give an update: The readout cleared up and came back. Only thing I noted was that we didn't have any rain for about 3 weeks and wasn't necessarily that hot. Now that we've gotten rain for the past couple of days, it will be interesting to see the outcome. Unfortunately she sits outdoors

Can you secure a small tarp over the dash/steering wheel area to keep things dry?

Take it out and keep it in the house when not in use. They take about 10 seconds to remove. I take mine out when I wash it to prevent water causing the same thing.
