Broken again, loosing faith

Thanks for all the comments guys. I will say, this thread has definitely surprised me, I was bitter when I first posted it because it was so fresh and I was so disappointed. The outpouring of support and coming together of Kioti owners as well as other members of TBN was fun to watch and be a part of. I'm happy to still own a Kioti.

I haven't really done much with the tractor in the 1 week I've had it, I've just been too busy and had rushed to get most of the jobs done that I wanted to do before giving my CK30 up for adoption. Today is my last day of work. Even as a consultant who's been playing the game for a long time now, it's always a bit of a punch to the gut, even with the 3 months notice I've had. It will give me more time to play on the new tractor and report back with pictures. I have to review the video of the delivery, my wife was the videographer and can sometimes have some colorful comments when tractors are involved :laughing:. It might be fun to post if it's appropriate.

Ken,

Congratulations on retirement and starting you new job! You think you were busy during your working years... just wait! You will never know how you got everything accomplished while working a 40+ hour week too.

I think I saw in one of the pics - your front window opens - yes? If so that's a wonderful improvement.

Tom, congratulations on retirement. Although I keep teasing my wife that I've retired, being 38, I can't quite swing it yet. Contracts ending are just normal parts of being a consultant, I'm just planning to extend the break a little longer this time to spend time with the family and update some of my skills. I've been more than lucky with contracts so far, the one that just ended went on for 3 1/2 years and the one before that went for 8 years, but the flip side of that is that a lot changes in the computer world in 11 1/2 years!

As far as the windows, the Comfort Cab that my dealer added to my CK30 has a windshield that opens along with the back window but the factory cab on the DK45 does not. On the other hand, the side windows on the DK open along with the back window and you get a nice cross breeze. Windows that open are great and all, but I'm really enjoying the A/C in the new cab :thumbsup:

Well, I've put a total of about 5 hours on it so far, well below how much I usually use my tractor. I've done a small about of box blading, I've moved a few pallets of firewood, a few scoops of top soil and a large rock. I have lots more to do, but my first priority is to finish my firewood.

What can I say, it's a lot more tractor. It will pick up the firewood like it's not even there. The last pallet, I had to pick it up a little with the ends of the forks to reposition it and it still didn't even flinch. A skid of wood was at the very limit of the KL130 loader and I'm now loading more wood into each bag.

The cab is great. It's so much quieter and larger and is finished as well as most cars. I don't find it tedious getting in and out of the cab anymore, the doors and entrance are just that much bigger and it's easy to jump on and off. Almost all the other details are just done better. The rear window door handle for instance has a push button and is metal and solid where I was pretty sure I was eventually going to break the plastic one on the Comfort cab. All the switches light up when you turn them on, the gears shift so smoothly, the seat is so much nicer, all of the extra gauges and lights etc, it's just all done so nicely on this tractor.

It might not be a fair review to say that it pulls a box blade like it's not even there since it's the 60 inch bb that I bought for the CK30. I can pretty much just leave it in mid range and go at whatever speed I want.

I'm ready for more lift capacity on the FEL, even though I still don't have enough ballast. I still couldn't lift a rock I've wanted to move, although, I'm going to give it one more shot with the forks. The FEL is significantly stronger and you really notice pushing into a pile and lifting up. I also don't need to shift down to low to really push into a pile, mid works just fine.

I'll have lots of work to do in the coming months/years and I'll be able to say more soon, but so far it hasn't disappointed.

In my experience there's really nothing to not like about the DK-40 series.

Re your rock: see if you can get the forks under it to where the rock is as close to the pins as possible. Once there try to just lift it enough to be able to get it to move. Maybe even without the necessary ballast you'll be able to skid it out of the way?! Next try dynamite to fracture it into smaller pieces!:laughing:
