Boone, why do you call them Osceola Turkeys? Is that just the location where they are found or some physical characteristic? Just curious. . . Your green grass sure looks inviting. Green is what I miss most in winter.

Jim :
They are named after famous Seminole Native American Chief. Yes it is about about location also only known to Fla peninsula.
Also to turkey hunters is one of 4 sought after to complete what is known as the grand slam (Eastern,Osceola,Merriam, and Rio Grande) turkey species or types.

The Wild Turkey Zone: Osceola / Florida Wild Turkey

Thanks for green grass comment but along with it comes IMO to much heat and humidity most of the year.

So what kind of snakes were they in the p[ics? We hear from the animal planet that ya'll have the most and deadly snakes in the world. When I visited there in your mid spring I never saw a single one and I think I rode about 3000Km or so on my road trip exploring OZ.

The Koala looks as though you could easily pick it up and take it in as a pet.

Great Pics.

Hey tpulley, The 2 together are tiger snakes and yes they are very venomous, very unusual to see them together like that. There were 3 when I went to get the camera. They got "relocated" to another dimension ; ) + another 2 from the same place! I saw one more there a day later but when I got the "boom-stick" it was gone & never seen again. The single snake in the photo on the gravel is a copper-head. It was only a meter long. The koala does look deceptively cuddly, but the claws kinda put you off that. You should hear the noise they make of an evening, spooky.
3000 k road trip? You've seen more of this place than I have. How long was your stay?

On occasion he will lie down on rug next to me as I'am on computor. Also has even crawled over my bare feet as I'am on computor. :D
Been doing this about two years now. Great ant control yesterday I shewd him outside and in less than half hour he was back in. Guess he likes ac on hot Fla days.

Herman looks like a much better house guest than a bunch of fire ants!

Here is a pan handler that has been coming around more now that we don't have a dog. Not the kind of fox you are used to Boone:laughing:

Hello again Rick !
Thats a cool pic , but man oh man I don't think I'd feed that guy bare handed. Also I'd be afraid he might jump up on me bite and give me rabies or something.

Wait till David/MossFlowerWood see's that He's been after a fox at his place for a while and here you are handfeeding them ! :)

As far as the foxes funny we both use a carrot as an attractant just different types !
