Most times, the tractor would have to run at a high enough RPM to make 60HZ, and that is far above idle.

considering that a pto genset makes power the same way the big power companies do. you need the proper pto speed to spin the guts to make 60cps power. thus your pto needs to be turning at or around 540 rpm to make 60cps... thus your tractor will not be at idle, since pto rpm is a driect locked ratio based upon engine rpm.

yes, an 8n can run a pto gen of up to 12.5kw capacity, if the N is in good condition and governor works well.

while attempting to put new hydralic fluid it i was trien to tightin the drain plug the first one and i broke it clean off didn;t even attempt to pull that hard IT CAME OFF ALOT HARDER and it snaped it right in half anyone no were i can get one??????

Call ford? It may just be a threaded plug, look at tractor supply co? Or look anywhere on internet after dearching ford 8n parts.

I'm not sure what plug you are refering to.

an 8n doesn't have seperate sumps, thus there is no sump you should be putting hyd fluid in. the N has 3 drains. a pipe plug at the rear.. and 2 bung drains.

pipe plug type is a common hardware store plug... bung drains you can get salvage... *might be able to get them at a parts supplier*.. I havn't seent hem at tsc. .. their supply of N parts has dropped a bit..

ya the 3 drain plugs i broke the one underneath gear shifter wich the 2 are the same the only diffrent drain plug is dirrectly under the axel i orderd a new one and 2 new gaskets as well culdnlt find one around here and the tractor is not operational with out fluid in it bung plug is one im refering to

ps.. next time, you can make those gaskets out of gasket paper or non corrugated cardboard.
