Got any advice other than watch how things come apart and put them back the exact same way. My thought is some trash is stopping some valve from closing. Not sure if taking those caps off and cleaning them out did anything and putting it all back together to see if it is fixed is probably not worth doing until I take this thing apart and inspect it. What could be stuck? Again there is no wear on this unit.

I believe I would remove the large hex nuts and clean out what looks like, load check valve.

Look for spring and bushing and debris.

Do this before you tear the valve apart.

A hyd shop can connect it up and check it out for you.

If the valve instructions are hard to understand why not scan them for posting. maybe some of the other guys with hydraulic experience can then make recommendations.

dito on checking the check system.. if it uses any pilots for that circuit, check those to make sure not partially engaged as well.

Sorry for not seeing this thread earlier....... but the cover on the opposite end of the culprit spool looks like it could be corroded internally or a screw coming loose not allowing the valve to shift completely....I've seen this many times

It would give the wooshing sounds the OP is experiencing

There is no need to dismantle the whole valve if this is the problem......just the rear cover

Yes, I removed the hex nuts on the top and bottom of number 6/8. One of the mushroom looking ends seemed a bit stuck like it had heavy oil in it and didn't "plunge" in and out the way the other seemed to do. Springs etc...looked perfect. I cleaned it up and it feels fine now. Not sure if that could have been the issue so I'm going to try to find a shop to test it out before disassembling the rest.
If I have to take it apart is there a sequence I should follow? The manual says to put it in a vise vertically. I don't have my vice right now so I'm attempting to work on this thing with none of my regular amenities.

Sorry, not sure what you are referring to? The rear cover? Do you mean the the things on the bottom of the valve that look like a sump?

Okay, you lost me on the pilots. Instructions don't mention this. I'm going to print the page with the stabilizer circuit and scan it in.
