How do you get rid of Moles?

I assume this bucket would prevent your cats or dogs from sticking their tongue in the trap? I just wouldnt trust it with my nosey dogs. The kick stuff over all the time if they smeel something good hahah
The bucket is to keep the mole/gopher from seeing the light coming in the tunnel and shoving dirt back up to block the hole before they smell the peanut butter and go looking. Dogs are an issue and a heavy rock on top of the bucket can help or just keeping the dog out of the area for a day or two until he is trapped.

Not an effective long term solution, but some of my imported wildlife took out last years mole population (2), we typically have 2 or 3 moles per year, and I manage to get 1 or 2 of them with poison, or garden hose.

However, last year, they tunneled into a fire ant mound (that had to suck), I was walking thru the yard, and found an odd looking fire ant mound, with 2 almost completly cleaned mole skeletons partially sticking out.

One thing I would like to see.... evidence that old wives tales really work. "I put gum in my mole hills and that killed them" just doesn't cut it. I want to see autopsied mole corpse with gum in its stomach. Same thing goes for poisons and grain baits. I wanna see the dead body.

Moles are carnivores. They eat meat. Worm meat primarily, and insect grubs, etc...
They don't eat flower bulbs either. If you have mole tunnels around damaged flower bulbs you probably have voles in your mole tunnels. Voles are very destructive. If you find nickle-sized holes in mole tunnels, you probably have voles.

Ranchers use bubble gum to eradicate prairie dogs or so I have heard.

I tried the poison gummy worms. (pricey) and they didn't touch em.

I've had excellent success with injecting bait into the tunnels. But I didn't dig up the whole yard looking for the bodies and then autopsy them to confirm the cause of death. All I know is they stopped every time I baited them. I wonder how you'd autopsy for a propane blast? :)

I angled the traps toward each hole. I did test the run by opening a few screwdriver holes about the size of your thumb yesterday and they where filled back in this morning. Crossing fingers
