Worked as a machine operator for many years and had very bad problem with cracked skin on fingers and hands. I thought all along it was the coolant we used to cool the parts and lubricate the cutting tools. Finally after years of fighting the problem I went to a dermatologist. Found out I was allergic to nickel. Started wearing vinyl gloves whenever possible. Now I have to wear gloves when working on equipment that may have fine particles of nickel as in oil changing. The problem with the gloves is they are a safety issue around moving parts. Also use the Corn Husker's when I can find it.
