45 / 410 Revolver

In the last few years I have killed approximately a dozen rattlers, most with a shovel or hoe & a few with a stick or a rock.
But it sure is hard to carry a shovel all the time. I don't have 1 that will fit in my pocket. :laughing:
Fortunately most rattlers in this area are not aggressive. On the bad side they don't rattle until after they strike or bite. next bad thing is they are considered the most dangers of all rattlers as they have both types of poison.

I have big & heavy, 45 ACP cal Smith. Not very particle for carry out in the country. Small & fairly light that can just be put in the pocket at times.

Tell me more about the Circuit Judge.

circuit judge is a carbine.. imagine a judge with a montecarlo stock and a 18"?? bbl

Man am I ever out of touch with prices. Looked at the Taurus web site. $555.00 up for a simple revolver. Guess I will pass on getting a new one. Maybe find a good used one some place.
Have a nice little 32 cal Colt, double action from the early 19 hundreds.
Little gun has a history, so I hate to abuse it. Have a letter from the old man I got it from. LA police chief gave it to his father to carry in his medical bag. His dad was a doctor and made house calls in some bad districts of LA. Dad kept it for years, old man said his dad would never have shot anyone, no matter what.

I carry for personal protection either a Sig 45 or S&W 44 mag. Sometimes my Beretta 92. The Judge for me is more useful as a 410. Very versatile. I guess if I ONLY had one choice for carry I would load the Judge upfront with 2 410's and follow with 3 45 long colts. Two warnings and three to finish . Despite some of the un favorable comments here, it is really a nice gun.

That is pretty much what I want. Why do you not shoot the 45 long COLT??

imho.. there are no such things as 'warnign shots' when you are dealing with concealed carry / personal protection issues.

if it's bad enough that you are drawing your gun for defense. you've reached the point where your shot needs to count.

I was always told that the "warning shot" should be through the liver...!

that sounds worded badly. very badly.

3 to stop the threat.

ther eshould be no 'finishing off'.

once a threat is stopped. you stop shooting.

The MSRP on their webpage is way over what retail gun stores normally charge, same for most gun manufacturers. Check a few gun stores out and see what they're actually getting for them. Used would be good, but I don't normally see a lot of used Taurus pistols for sale around here
